You followed close behind Sherlock. He opened the big black door that read 221B and walked in. You tried to shut the door as quietly as possible but it still made noise. Sherlock walked towards Mrs. Hudson's door. He opened it and stepped inside. She started screaming and you rushed in. There stood the landlady with a pan in her hands looking like she had just seen a ghost. Well, I guess Sherlock was close enough to one.

"Mrs. Hudson, it's alright. It's me." Sherlock soothed putting his hands on her shoulders.

"How?" She asked.

"It's complicated. But I will be needing my flat back." He said with those irresistible puppy dog eyes.

Mrs. Hudson just nodded, "All your stuff is still up there." She said.

"Thank you." He said and kissed her cheek.

You both walked up the steps side by side.

"I didn't know you showed such sentiment to anyone." You said smiling smugly at him.

Sherlock shrugged, "I make exceptions."

He opened the door and walked inside. You followed after him, your gaze not leaving him.

"Oh yeah? Like who?" You questioned.

Sherlock stared at you and it almost seemed as though time froze. He eventually shook out of his daze and cleared his throat. He stepped a little bit closer to you.

"Well, Mrs. Hudson, John, umm, occasionally Lestrade, and..." He trailed off and looked you dead in the eye. "...and you."

You stared at him, wide eyed, and shocked at the last thing he said.

"What do you mean?" You asked.

"Y/n it's been two years since we've started working together. There's something different about you." Sherlock rambled walking around the living room. "I don't understand what I'm feeling right now though." He stopped in front of you.

You looked up at him as he looked down at you.

"What you're feeling is emotion. I'm feeling it too." You said.

"I've felt emotion but not this kind of emotion." He said.

"Love." You said.

"What?"

"Love." You repeated. "It's what you've never felt before. You shouldn't hold back. You just have to put down your walls and look me in the eye and say..." you looked into his eyes and froze, "...I love you."

Sherlock smiled, "I love you." He said.

"You sure?" You questioned laughing.

"Positively sure."

"Prove it." You challenged.

He stayed still when you said that. You sighed with a smile on your face and pulled his collar. His lips connected with yours. He wasn't expecting you to do that but he eased into it. You pulled away and released his collar.

"That was..." You began.

"Unexpected." Sherlock finished for you.

You let out a laugh and walked over to the couch. You sat down and he joined you. You sighed.

"I don't know about you but I'm feeling a bit hungry." You said patting your stomach.

"Do you like chips?" Sherlock asked.

"Sherlock we've been partners for two years and you don't even know if I like chips or not?" You asked.

"We never got chips while we were gone." He said.

"Good point." You said. "Chips sound delicious."
