"So, you're a sorcerer?" John asked after the whole story had been told to him.
"Yeah. Well, I was." You said raising one of your arms.
Your hand just flopped around uselessly. You dropped it back down to your side.
"How are we supposed to do this?" Sherlock asked.
"What do you mean?" Stephen asked.
"Well I don't think y/n is very happy about never being able to use her hands ever again. We should probably find a way to get her magic back." Sherlock said.
"Umm, how about we try training me again. I mean I remember how to do everything, I just need to get it right again. Though it might be difficult without the use of hands." You suggested.
"You did it once when you first came. I'm pretty sure you can do it again." Wong assured you.
You smiled and nodded. "Let's do it."
You walked out to the courtyard where you used to practice. You remembered all of the steps to making magic and you tried them. You raised your hands but the just flopped down. You held back the tears that formed as you recalled the last time you were in this situation. You did every move but it all only resulted in little tiny sparks of energy. You dropped your arms down in defeat and sat down on the steps. You rested your head in your hands as you became dead to the world. You felt someone sit down close to you and peeked out of the corner of your eye to see who it was. You saw Sherlock and leaned over, resting your head on his shoulder.
"I can't do it." You said.
"Yes you can. I know you can." He said.
"How?" You asked. "How do you know?"
"Because I know you, and I know that you never give up. And if you give up now, you're basically giving up the use of your hands along with it. You have to keep trying."
You looked up at him and smiled, "Okay. Thank you, Sherlock."
"Don't mention it." He said.
Over the course of the next couple of weeks you really didn't get anywhere with regaining your magic. Every time you got frustrated, you'd think of what Sherlock had said and try again. But one day you just couldn't deal with it anymore.
You were trying to open a portal with the sling ring but there was barely even a spark that appeared. You dropped your hands down to your sides and sighed in frustration."I can't do it." You said.
"Yes you can y/n. You just have to-" Sherlock started.
"Just what? Keep trying and trying with the false hope that I'll just suddenly regain my magic! It won't work that way Sherlock! I can't." You said.
Silence can over the whole group of you outside. You gave the sling ring to Stephen and sighed.
"Let's just go home." You said.
Sherlock nodded and took you back to London. The two of you walked along the sidewalk as you headed back to Baker Street. You were both quiet most of the way there.
"Are you alright?" Sherlock asked, breaking the silence.
You shrugged, "I guess so." You answered not meeting his gaze.
"No you're not." He stated.
"Not even a little bit." You added. "I feel so useless. I really can't do anything without my hands. I just want to use them again." You said looking down at them.
Sherlock didn't say anything, mostly because he didn't know what to say. The two of you locked eyes with each other as you continued walking. Since you were looking at each other, you didn't even notice the person in front of you. Not until after you passed him and felt him grab you and throw you back. You shrieked as you flew back away from Sherlock. You managed to sit up and look at the figure. It was, once again, Mordo.
You looked behind him at Sherlock but he seemed frozen in place. Mordo grabbed you and lifted you back onto your feet. You heard the sound of a sling ring opening behind you, and as you were about to be pushed through, you mouthed one word to Sherlock that he surprisingly obeyed. 'Run' And there you went. Mordo pushed you through the open portal and you were falling away.
