Author's Note:
Hi! Sorry for not updating. As you can probably see, I am an author who loves plot twists and never allows for a true happy ending.
I wanted some suspense, and I hope you did too, because you're going to get some...

Hermione's POV

I turned to the last page of my Charms textbook.

Sunshine, flowers,
Geese and moose.
Turn this water into juice!

No, it was all wrong!

Goose and geese,
Moose and moose,
Turn this water into-

"Hermione!" Ron said.

"Earth to Hermione Jean Granger!"

Harry waved a hand in front of my face.

"Oh... W-what?"

"Look," Ron said. "You're studying too hard for the finals. Come on, can't you take a break?!"

I threw a red and gold pillow at him lovingly.

"No, of course not!" I said.

I went back to my Charms textbook, but quickly screamed and dropped the book. The book was covered with spiders.

"HARRY! RON!"

Ron screamed like a little girl and ran to hide behind Harry.

"Sp-p-spiders! On the Ch-charms book!"

Harry cracked up, and walked over to the book, holding his side in laughter.

"Oh, please, Ron, it's just- AAAAAAAHHHHH!"

Harry ran away from the book.

We all noticed what had happened. My charms book was covered with large, scurrying black spiders.

I pointed a wand at the book.

"Petrificus Totalus!"

The spiders froze... Only the ones on top of the book. Then, all of them began to move again.

"Ron," I said calmly. "Levitate the book. Harry, stupefy the spiders."

Ron shook his head and trembled, but inched closer to the book.

"Wingardium Leviosar!"

"It's LeviOsa, not LeviosAr!" I snapped at him.

Ron shivered. "R-right..."

"Wingardium Levioso!" he said.

"Ron! It's-"

"Let me handle it," Harry said. "Clearly, Ron isn't manly enough to handle this."

Harry pushed Ron away from the book.

"Wingardium Leviosa!"

The book rose from the ground gracefully.

I pointed my wand at the book.

"Petrificus Totalus!" I screamed. "Stupefy! Incendio! Augamenti!"

I closed my eyes and did a few nonverbal spells.

The spiders froze and went limp. The book burst into flames, and was drenched in water afterwards.

But they began to move again, as they jumped off the book. They were crawling towards me.

"PROTEGO!" I shouted. Fine, I wasn't scared of one spider, but over fifty? This wasn't good...

As soon as the spiders came in contact with the invisible barrier I had cast, the barrier turned to glass and shattered into a million sharp pieces.

Horrified, I fell back, onto a sharp shard of glass, which pierced into my arm. Blood began to rush out, and the spiders were drawing closer.

I tried to reach for my wand, but my unhurt hard immediately bumped into a pile of books, sending the books down on top of my fingers. Tears began to pool in my eyes.

"Owwww! Noooo! Harry! Ron! Please..."

My words were drowned out by a swarm of spiders crawling on top of my body.

They reached my wrist, and froze for a moment.

Though my vision was blurry, I could see them raise their heads.

Then, they bit down. Hard.

Through my tears, I saw a faint outline of spiders covering my face.

And then everything went black.
