No Show is another piece I loved the prose on, which found itself nixed for not doing research. The characterization was good, the plot was good, the action intense. We also got the typical feel for this pairing, where Scully and Mulder don't act on their feelings like other couples do, but you know they're a couple.
As for the error...
I'm really into the mystery genre, and cyanide tends to crop up a lot. Up until the cyanide was mentioned, I didn't feel like I was forced to suspend my disbelief. It is after all, the X-Files. However, when one of the characters stated cyanide was an illegal substance, I had to do a double take. Cyanide actually isn't an illegal substance, but a controlled substance, meaning it would be hard to come by. Then came the treatment of cyanide poisoning, none of which was accurate. There were other small details which didn't add up.
However...
... even Agatha Christie made mistakes in some of her mysteries. She used a fictional character to poke fun of herself. One can not learn without making a few mistakes. Mystery is also one of the hardest genre to write, including supernatural mysteries. Add to this, the characterization was good, and the story quite enjoyable, and despite the issue I still ate the story up.
