This particular story is one of the stories I missed reading during the Coffee Shop AU contest. The first thing which stands out for me is the fact the writer went with a winter theme. The contest took place in July, but the writer still picked up on the fact hot drinks are nice during cold weather. The writer also touches upon that awkwardness of not knowing whether the person you're crushing on has the same sexual preference as yourself. Those with the heterosexual preference don't really need to worry about this. I also liked how the story slowly progresses towards the two getting together, but also the prose used in the story.
