I honestly don't know how this one is AU. The reason I don't know how this one is AU is because it's been awhile since I've seen CSI: New York; it's at the point I can't remember if I've even seen the episode in question. It did though get picked as one of the winners. I'm not sure I can say what I like so much about the piece either, other then it's true to the characters, and I love the prose. It's not one of the Fanfic Friday pieces I remember off the top of my head either, but if I see the title I go, "oh, there's a nice read". And it honestly is still a nice read.
