Intro: This is a pairing that isn't quite as popular as the last two. Sonic the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat first met in the game Sonic Rush, and that, dear reader, is where the shipping begins.
Proof: This all started in the Sonic Rush games. While they didn't officially meet until near the end of the first game, in that short time, there were minimal signs of attraction. At the very end of both Sonic Rush games, they both end their farewells with a friendly handshake. Despite me hugely shipping this and this being a threat to it, I can't help but laugh at the thought that Sonic got friendzoned.
Then came Sonic and the Black Knight. While that wasn't technically Blaze (Her name was Sir Percival), she was basically an alternate dimension Blaze. After their first battle, Blaze/Percival seemingly attempts suicide by lava, Sonic jumps after her and saves her from certain doom. Caliburn then teases the two by saying, "Save the hugs and kisses for later.". At this, Blaze/Percival looks down and blushes. She continued to show signs of concern for Sonic later on in the game.
What I think: This is a rare occasion that it didn't take anyone else to convince me of this. I first thought of this when I read Percy Jackson, if you can believe it.
I was comparing the characters in the book to Sonic characters, for some reason, don't ask. I compared it like this:
Sonic=Percy
Tails=Grover
Shadow=Nico
I then had trouble coming up with an Annabeth counterpart. Amy couldn't possibly fit that role. Then Blaze came to mind, and I thought it was perfect. I began shipping Sonic and Blaze ever since. Weird, I know, but that was me in middle school for ya.
