You opened your eyes, seeing the dark sky in front of you. The sun had already set, the moon rising above the horizon. A smile crept onto your lips when you saw that familiar silhouette of his. You could see his long outerwear swaying with the evening breeze. No matter how much you wanted to go up to him and hug him under the moonlight, you would not.
You knew well that he preferred serenity. Hong Bin was someone you never knew before. The first person whom let you know what quiet was, how both of you could understand each other without speaking a word. It was exactly what you fell for him for.
You leaned comfortably to the tree behind you, silently admiring him from afar. The smile never left your lips. Sitting under the tree, admiring your loved one under the moonlight. It was mesmerizing.
Hong Bin slowly turned around, his hands tucked into the big pockets of his outerwear. He had his head hung low, his front bangs blocking you from making eye contact with him.
You made a pout when you saw his lips moving. You could barely hear anything, but all you knew was he was singing a love song.
He lifted his head, his eyes turning wide for a second. You stiffled your giggles at his reaction. Hong Bin scratched the back of his head as he walked towards you with a shy smile.
You wondered what it was that kept this relationship going. The both of you were more introvet, neither of you were able to speak out proudly. But that was also why you could understand each other so well without words.
As you were dazed in your thoughts, little did you know that Hong Bin was standing in front of you already. He gave a pout when he realised that he was not getting your full attention. He squatted down, hugging his legs as he leaned closer to your face.
"So Eun-yah." Hong Bin whispered.
"H-Hong Bin!" you gasped loudly, your eyes widened in shock.
He let out a soft chuckle, your turn to get embarrassed as you turned away shyly.
"Why didn't you join me up there?" Hong Bin asked, still in his squatting position.
"Arh... I thought you needed some time to think." you said with a small smile tugging your lips.
Hong Bin tilted his head to a side in confusion.
"Think?" Hong Bin said, furrowing his eyebrows gently.
"Yea." you nodded, your smile fading away. "Oppa...I know that you're getting stressed over your career nowadays."
Hong Bin began to sit beside you, leaning his back against the tree bark as he continued to listen to you.
"You and the oppas just returned with a new album. And...I know it's really tough for you to manage both your career and personal life. You go out at 6 in the morning and return at 11 at night. You must be so tired. And..a-and to accompany me even at your day-offs. Y-you should be resting now...instead of... Oppa, I-I feel so bad for being your burden." you confessed, tears pooling in your eyes.
Hong Bin's lips parted. He never thought of you as a burden. Sure he was being stressed out over the enormous work, but he never felt that it was tiring since it was what he enjoyed doing. But when you said you were his burden, it was as if someone shot him right in his chest. Being with you was what he had always been looking forward to each day. It was what he kept on motivating himself. It was you. You, who made his career possible. It was you who made him fall in love.
"So Eun... You are never my burden." Hong Bin said, slowly embracing his hand over yours.
You bit your lip as you hesitantly brought your head to meet his. Hong Bin gave an assuring smile, squeezing your hand lightly as he continued.
"So Eun, you're the only one who made me keep on going, you're what I have been living for. When I was stressed, you're the one who gave me strength. With your hugs and smiles, I could understand you without speaking. You're the only one who made me feel loved, So Eun-yah." Hong Bin said, a wide grin spreading across his cheeks.
You closed your eyes, nodding as you felt tears roll down your cheeks.
"Aigoo... Why are you crying, my baby?" Hong Bin said as he wrapped his arms around you protectively.
You shook your head and continued to sob as Hong Bin rocked you back and forth. You could feel his lips against your bangs as he rubbed your arms.
"I-I love you as much you love me too, oppa." you croaked, meeting his eyes.
Hong Bin chuckled, leaning down to press his lips against yours. The kiss was less than a second as he quickly pulled away. It was merely a peck on the lips but it made your heart flutter.
"I love you more than you're ever know." Hong Bin said, tightening his arns around you. "I protect you more than someone else would ever be."
