"Larry you don't have to tell Ally anything," Sarah countered. She and Larry were back home having dinner and debating with each other whether or not he should tell Ally that they nearly kissed. The last thing Sarah and Larry wanted was to damage his relationship with Ally any more than it has been in the past. "It's not worth the hassle because nothing happened and you know how she overthinks things."
But Larry wasn't convinced, he had to tell Ally because he didn't want to hide things from her. "But Sarah we almost kissed! Something could have happened if we hadn't regained our senses!" Sure he didn't think it was something to end a relationship over but Ally most definitely would.
"Emphasis on the almost," Sarah pointed out, lifting up a forkful of food from her plate. In her opinion Larry was making a mountain out of a molehill and it wasn't neccessary.
"Okay the what if she finds out later on?" Larry retaliated calmly. He couldn't risk losing Ally again to anything.
"And you're meant to be the smartest lawyer I know," Sarah rolled her eyes, making Larry look at her. Worrying was what tore him and Ally apart in the first place and she was not going to witness a repeat of it happening again. "How would she find out if only you and I know? huh? And second of all, it was probably just my hormones getting to me, you do realise I'm pregnant right?"
"Oh is that what is? I wasn't sure," Larry joked, a slight smile forming across his lips while he tried to remain serious.
Silence filled the entire kitchen when the two met eye contact both wearing smirks on their features as a way of playfully intimidating the other. "Shut up," Sarah scoffed with a laugh, raising an eyebrow. "Unless you want me to name our child regardless what gender it is?" she challenged lightheartedly.
"Touche," Larry chuckled, taking a bite of the food before him. "I taught you well Mrs Paul."
Sarah took mock offence to that and gasped dramatically, "Excuse me? Nu-uh don't you take credit for something that comes naturally to me."
The couple could have continued with their humour filled banter for hours and they might actually have done if someone hadn't interrupted them by knocking at the front door.
"I'll go and see who it is," Larry got up from one of the long kitchen stools that surrounded the rather grand kitchen island in the centre of the room. "I don't want you doing much for the remainder of the night, it's been a long day so why don't you put your feet up after you finish eating?" He instructed in that sweet caring voice of his as he massaged her shoulders gently.
"Larry I'm not physically unable, I'm pregnant, it happens to so many women each and every day,I am fit enough to do a few things around the house or even answer the door by myself," Sarah laughed softly, putting down her fork and leant into her husband's touch. A small shoulder massage was just what she needed.
"Exactly, it's a normal part of life Sar," Larry answered in regards to the anxieties his wife still felt, the worry that this pregnancy was going to turn out like her last one. He was going to do anything in his power to avoid that happening and convince Sarah that this baby was going to be born healthy with no problems whatsoever. "Which means you don't have to worry so much. Our baby is going amazing, you'll see."
His enthusiasm about their unborn child made Sarah smile widely and she shyly looked down with a hand to her stomach. Although they weren't in the exact position to call themselves a perfect family what with them loving other people. Both parents were determined to give their child the best life possible in a world where both their lives were oh so complicated. "Well with a such a wonderful father I don't see how it couldn't," she muttered softly, the smile refusing to wipe away from her face.
