Ally pondered over Sarah's fleeting words. "Don't give up on Larry" what could she have possibly meant by saying that? How could Ally be expected to keep her faith of Larry being there when he had already failed her when he left and married a girl who fell pregnant with none other than his own child. Albeit the pregnancy was a major surprise to Sarah and Larry but they could have done more to make sure that they avoided their unexpected dilemma. Ally couldn't stay mad at Larry forever, she didn't have it in her to be so heartless towards him. But the fact remained was the hurt still lingered in her heart. She may be able to forgive Larry, however forgetting what he did was whole different kettle of fish. Something always seemed to come along when Larry and Ally tried to have some sort of stable and meaningful relationship with each other. The love was definitely there, that was an undeniable fact. But every time things looked to be finally going right for them, a catastrophe occurs that tested their relationship. Be it Larry's ex girlfriend, ex wife or current wife! He said he loved her but his actions didn't prove any of that to Ally. She was hurt by the one person she thought would never hurt her. Larry was working on something big, he was going to go all out, Ally wanted proof? Well she was going to get it. There must have been reason why Larry was drawn back to Boston and not just because of Sarah's job. He was the one who helped her become hired as a lawyer at Cage and Fish all the while knowing full well it was the same establishment Ally worked at. Deep down, Larry did want to see her again when he moved up with Sarah. But not exactly in these conditions. It was just one big mistake.

Taking over Sarah's part of the case was quite a simple task for Corretta she had had to step in at the last minute when Larry dropped everything and disappeared. She knew why Larry did it those few years ago, not that she agreed with it. Larry wasn't there to pick up the pieces and see the pain his absence caused Ally, not a day went by that she didn't think about him. Ally and Corretta had worked on a number of cases together before, experiencing more success than losses. Sarah meanwhile kept her head down, getting on with her work, it was easier to steer clear of everybody else in the firm now that she was focused on a case of her own where she was the sole lawyer for the plaintiff rather than it being a joint partnership with another associated counsel. Of course Ling barged in on Sarah whenever she pleased, but Sarah didn't mind, her friend needed someone to talk to and she was more than happy to lend a caring ear. Sarah felt a pang of guilt for informing Larry of some of the details, but he had just walked in on her phone call before she could react. He had overheard their conversation.

Speaking of which, Richard had got hold of Larry, asking him to come over to his house that evening. The only chance he had to speak to the man without Ling being aware of it. "Larry, it's good to see you, I'm glad you could make it," Richard ushered Larry in hurriedly. "I don't think it has anything to do with the numerous voicemails left on my answer machine," Larry remarked with sarcasm but his expression holding a pretence of seriousness. "Can you tell me what's wrong with Ling?" Richard cut straight to the chase, whatever Ling's problem was, as her boyfriend or soulmate as he called it, he had the right to know. "Yes but then again I can't," Larry answered with a small shrug.

"Come on Larry, I'm desperate here," Richard was exasperated, normally he could handle Ling acting mysterious but she was never as closed off as this. "All I know is she has to see her doctor on Thursday and half three," Larry explained frowning a little with concern at Richards current demeanour, "She asked Sarah to tag along because she didn't want to be alone."

Richard stared into the distance, his worry increasing more. If Ling's health was at risk he needed to do all he could to help her. "Thank you," Richard nodded slowly trying to regain his composure, "er and Larry tell Sarah not to bother going with Ling on Thursday. And if there's anything I could do to repay the favour just ask." Larry was about to head out before he took in Richards words, "Now that you mention it there is something." Richard was not expecting Larry to take him up on his offer, "Larry I was only being polite there," he stammered.
