"What was all that about?" Nelled remarked with an amused smirk painted on her expression, from the round table where all the work collegues were sat across, Sarah the quietest keeping her eyes latched onto her empty glass that once contained plain water. They had all witnessed what had taken place and of course it caused their curiosity about the situation of Ally and Larry to soar. "Those two were always arguing about something, what's new?" came Jackson's statement of jest, he never liked Larry the two men just never got along, and the whole awkward situation between he and Ally just made things worse. "Hey, hey that's enough," Richard stood up from next to Ling, his hands raised to distract the converation from this topic. "Now let's discuss drinks, John go and order up a few bottles of champagne." he instructed, giving the co-partner of his business the money. "W-wait why do I always have to get the drinks?" John argued back, needless to say he hated being treated like Richard's assistant they were meant to be working together, as equals.
Everyone could tell an argument was going to spill out over this, something Sarah just did not need to witness right now. She got up from the table, wanting to join Larry but her actions of course never went unnoticed. "Sarah where are you going?" Richard frowned, glancing over to Ling to make sure his girlfriend wasn't intending on leaving either, "The drinks haven't even arrived." But Sarah shook her head, keeping her gaze lowered and away from all her colleagues, "I er... don't worry about the drink for me.." she muttered softly, embarrassment running rampant through her and it was not helped Nelle's snide remark, "What, you're not pregnant are you?"
Sarah didn't bother giving Nelle the satisfaction of a reply and finally left the table to move by Larry's side. But that didn't stop Ling from supporting her friend, in fact one of her only friends, "Oh Nelle," she rolled her eyes, folding her arms on the table as she glared at the other woman, "There is no need to make assumptions on people's personal life just because they don't fill the void in their life with drink." Nelle's amused expression dropped to one of insult, her and Ling were prone to getting into cat fights with one another and it seemed like now was no exception, "What is that supposed to mean..Ling?"
Meanwhile, as the argument pursued between the two woman with Richard, John and Mark trying to calm the situation down, Larry and Sarah were sat on a corner table together. The way Ally had reacted was worse than Sarah imagined and for Larry, he saw this as typical Ally behaviour. Behaviour that he had no idea how to get throught to. "I can't believe I actually thought she'd take to the news well," Larry voiced with dissappointment, the woman he loved was slipping right out of his fingers if not already gone out of his life. Permanently this time. "That was the biggest mistake I could have made," there was no way he could make this right again. Any hopes of he and Ally becoming an item were thrown out the window and buried deep in the ground. "Don't beat your self up about it Larry," Sarah offered words of comfort, rubbing her hand on his back kindly, "I think we know that wasn't the biggest mistake you made....we both had a part in it.." she sighed, placing her other hand on her stomach. She never wanted this to happen but now there no going back. This baby was the reason why Ally and Larry couldn't be together and it pained Sarah to know that Larry was being stripped of any chance of having the happiness he deserved.
"We should have stayed in Detroit," Larry suddenly spoke, turning his head to face Sarah, his wife. That's who he should be focusing on, the woman he was married to and was expecting a child with rather than the woman who stole his heart. As hurtful as that sounded in his mind, Larry was at a loss for options, Ally was most likely out of the picture now and if he had to choose between Ally and Sarah he would lose out either way, "At least then we would have been a normal family with a child where everything else wouldn't matter. That's a normal married couple, and we could have had that before moving up here."
