It was all for Eleven's safety, Mike just doesn't realize it yet.
"I called you every night Every night for-"
"353 days," the hurt in both their voices and the tears shedding from their eyes. It was the reunion that everybody wanted, "I heard."
"Why didn't you say anything? That you were okay?"
His eyes shifted to the person standing next to Hopper, arms wrapped around herself. Y/N stared back at the two with sympathy in her stare.
"You didn't let her...did you?" Mike walked towards the smaller girl, anger in his tone. Standing in front of her, he pushed her hard against the Byer's family wall, "didn't you?!"
"Hey! Cut it out!" Hopper pushed his chest slightly back, "she didn't do anything!"
"She kept El away from me!" Mike's voice scared Y/N. The anger in his tone and the death in his stare, "this is all her fault!"
Yet again, Mike pushed her against the wall, only to grab hold of her collar and lift her up off the ground.
"Please...I didn't mean to...I did it...I did it to protect her..." the tears from her eyes fell down her cheeks.
"Bullshit!" he pulled her forward and pushed her back, her head smashing against the wall, hard.
"Mike...let her go..." he spun her head to see Steve and Hopper standing side by side, Steve walking closer and closer to them both, "she was protecting you both."
"She...she kept El away from me," Mike's tears starting to finally show.
"Mike just let her go," Steve stood beside the Wheeler boy, slowly peeling Y/N out of his death grip.
She collapsed into Steve, sobbing into his open shirt as he pulled her away out of the living room.
And as Mike watched on, he finally knew that this was all his fault.
