Welcome, everyone to the finals! Congratulations and thank you to everyone who has made it thus far. You guys are all amazing writers who deserve to be here. You've worked hard and cried and made me cry and now it's time to tie up loose ends and bring things to a close.
For anyone who doesn't know how this works, everyone's final entries will be posted in their own chapters. We all will read them along with anyone who's following along and then everyone votes on the entry and the writer they think deserve to win. Consider their entry this round, how they write, as well as their scores and how they've written throughout the competition. Every one of you finalists will be allowed to vote, but you will only be allowed to vote for someone else, not yourself. If there is a tie or no one votes, I will decide. If not, then I also receive one vote as well. Please don't just vote for your friend's. Anyway, onto the task:
Your Magi Guild is scattered and what's left of its members are now on the run. The Dragon Empire, which has conquered several planets already, is hunting you down and the Republic Captial of Tythan has fallen. You've discovered that other Republic planets, safe havens, and other planets with more Magi have been wiped out and conquered. The Republic has fallen and nowhere in the galaxy is safe from you. What is your character(s) going through? How do they cope? Have they been captured? Show me what life on the run is like - a life of a Magi in hiding when the galaxy is no longer safe for them.
If you want, you can show the escape as their ship breaks through the Imperial blockade around Tythan. Or you can jump time and show what your character is going through now. You can have them have escaped or been recaptured and never left Tythan. Are they dead? Do they live, die? This is your chance to tie up all loose ends and give your story a final closing and an end.
Due date:
September 28, Friday, 6pm central. This only gives you 5 days, which I know is short, but I know you guys can handle it. This is the finals; to show off your writing skills, what you have learned, how you guys can hand in on time and not be late or last minute. You are all finalists so please show the behavior of one. :)
Remember that since this is the finals, anyone past the deadline, even by a minute, will be disqualified. No freebies or extensions this time. I'm sorry; I know I sound harsh but it's the finals. So it's gotta be a little tougher. :D
Word count:
Unlimited. Just don't be too long. Remember everyone might be reading all the entries, which is 8 of them, so be courteous of that.
Good luck to all of you. Let me know if I forgot anything. If you include other Magi, please include the ones listed on the previous chapter as being still alive, to be realistic.
Remember that even though Magi Games is drawing to a close, you writers will always be with my heart - as well as your entries, characters, and stories <3
