One week later
Sitting in the studio with Tim I tried focusing on what lyrics to write next for this song. I haven't spoken to Aaliyah since the day of our argument, she been ignoring my calls ever since. I felt bad though, I made her think I wasn't taking our relationship serious and the only thing it revolved around was sex.
I don't know what got into me, I think I really fucked up. If you ask me it wasn't that serious to end anything. I'll just let her have her little hissy fit for now.
"Man you still can't figure out what to write?" Timbaland asked patting my back which made me snap out of my thoughts "I'm gone have to get static over here or sum'n" He joked.
I shook my head "I'm trying man, I'm just thinking you know this shit take time"
"Yeah I understand" He slowly nodded "Whatever happened to that song you been working on? It was like a year ago but I still remember what you read"
I knitted my eyebrows together trying to think of what song he could be talking about. "Are you talking about that my whole life has changed?" I sung.
He quickly nodded "Yeah that's it"
"I still got it but I never finished it" I shrugged "Can't come up with no more lyrics and I'm not even feeling it anymore" I said shaking my head.
I started writing that song in 97, before me and Liyah even started dating. I was so excited to get in the studio and write something inspired by her but it's crazy because I only knew her for a year.
"I really think it could've went somewhere though, the lyrics were good"
"Maybe next album, I don't feel the same way about that song no more" I told him honestly.
Once again he nodded "Speaking of albums, when are you and Aaliyah going to start on that song final warning?" He asked with a smirk.
"I don't even think she wants anything to do with me or that song anymore"
"Why you say that?"
I sighed "Last week we got into a argument--"
"Argument about what?" He cut me off.
"Man don't worry about all that just know we got into a disagreement and she started yelling at me in the car and shit so I pulled over and she got out, all I did was bring up her ex and she took it the wrong way" I shrugged a shoulder "She decided to find another way home and I haven't heard from her since then"
