Today I wasn't really planning to do anything for my birthday. I'm such a homebody and didn't even know of anything interesting to go out and do. Since my cousins moved out here they wanted to throw me a house party but I turned it down.

Not because I didn't like the suggestion it's just ginuwine already planned on taking me out tonight. Of course he was gonna go all out, I just know it.

"Since when did you bake?" I asked Rashad as I walked in on him scrapping his burnt cake off the pan, epic fail.

"I thought it would've been better than the store bought" he coughed and waved his hands in front of the smoke "but I guess not"

"I LOVE the store bought cakes!" I chuckled being dramatic "You should've just went and did that anyway"

He shrugged a shoulder "I'll go out and get ya one later" he gave a goofy smile and I laughed "So what were you planning on doing today? You not staying in this house" He said with a raised eyebrow "Are Bianca & them taking you out?"

"Nope Elgin is actually" I smirked and he looked at me confused "....Ginuwine"

"Oh him!" He nodded then looked at me for a second "He better not be trying to get in your cookie jar tonight! I don't care if it's your birthday"

I covered my face and snickered "Oh my god! I never said anything like that" I shook my head "I'm walking away from this conversation" I said as he was about to open his mouth again.

I walked into the living room and soon as my foot touched the first step the doorbell rung. I jogged over to it quickly, thinking it was just Nicole and Bianca coming over to do my hair. I looked through the peephole and saw the mail guy.

I opened it "Morning!" I said with a smile.

"Hi miss, um are you Aaliyah Haughton?" He asked and I nodded.

He handed me a letter "One second" he said before running off to his truck to get something. He came back with a covered dress or outfit "This is for you" he smiled handing it to me.

"Thank you!" I said as he walked off the porch.

I closed the door and locked it with a grin still on my face. Who could've possibly sent me something like this?

I ripped the envelope and my eyes grew wide. I was holding a letter in my hand that had Devante written across in cursive, with a heart sticker.

Confusingly, I opened.
