107) New Love

Another article of the two of them popped up on your Instagram feed. You felt your heart drop as you saw him kissing her cheek the way he used to kiss yours. You closed the app and decided to go to the gym instead of wasting the day away.

Tyler broke up with you 6 months ago and now he is dating the new star of Grey's Anatomy. She is perfect and so talented. You two broke up because he was always busy with his schedule. Yet he went to a girl whose schedule was just as busy as his. You felt hurt because it was just an excuse for him to get with her but you didn't want to think about it any longer, it hurt you too much to care.

Tyler was in his room, looking at his Instagram feed. He saw a new post from you at the gym in your tights and a sports bra. He must admit that you looked great. He missed you. Even though he was happy with her... it wasn't the same. But he knew that things would never go back to the way they were. Not after what he did to you by breaking up with you and then starting to date her.

2 weeks later you receive a message from on unknown number.

*Hey you. It's Tyler. Hope you are doing well. I just wanted to let you know that my dad is in hospital and I would just appreciate your prayers*

Your heart dropped at the thought of his dad lying in a hospital bed.. you loved Tyler's dad and you treated him as your own dad since yours passed away. Instead of sending a message back you phoned him.

"Hello?", his voice rang through the phone.

"Hey it's me.. Y/N", you say face palming yourself.

"Y/N...", his voice sounds out of breath at the sound of your name.

"How's your dad? What happened?", you ask quickly so he can't ask you questions.

"He has a heart attack last night at dinner", he says and you can hear he is tired.

"Oh Ty.. I'm so sorry", you say and he starts to cry.

"He can't go.. not like my mom..", and your heart breaks.

"Listen.. what hospital is he in? I'll try come visit this afternoon if that's alright?", you ask.

"Yeah we're at the Good Samaritan Hospital. (Idk hospitals sorry) I would really appreciate you coming.. and I know my dad would to", he says.

"Okay. I'll be there at 7. Be strong Ty", you say and hang up.

When 6:30 rolls around you are pretty nervous go see Tyler and his family again. Also, you don't know if she will be there so that's making you extra nervous.

You leave your apartment and drive down to the hospital. The receptionist tells you where to go and you take your time getting there. You see the waiting room and decide to sit there for a bit as to not look too eager but you see a familiar figure waiting there too.

He's busy sleeping, wearing the maroon hoodie you gave him for his birthday. You smile slightly before shaking him gently. He opens his eyes and blinks a few times before taking you in.

"Oh hey", he says and smile shyly at you.

"Hey", you greet back, "you been here long?".

"Yeah the whole day actually. Just been too worried to go sit at home", he explains and you nod in understanding.

"How are you?", he asks as he knows it's tough for you to be back in a hospital after your dad died in one.

"I'm good", you say not wanting to open up.
"So should we go visit him?", you ask.

He frowns at you but then nods his head and leads the way to his dads room. You walk in and see his dad watching a game on TV while Jesse sits next to him and reads a magazine. Tyler clears his throat and the two men look up. A smile spreads across Johns face as he looks at you. Jesse rushes over to you and picks you up in a hug.

"I've missed you!!", he says and Tyler has to quiet him as to not disturb the other patients.

"I've missed you too", you smile up at him. "Why are you so tall?", you ask and he laughs while shrugging.

You walked over to John and give him a a kiss on the cheek.

"How are you doing?", you ask him.

"Much better now that you are here", he says and you roll your eyes while laughing at his usual charm.

"Have you been taking your medicine?", you ask and he blushes, trying to hide his face.

"When I remember", he eventually gets out.

Tyler looks at him before saying "Dad you promised.. it's the only way you will get better".

"And I will.. I promise", his dad says and you can sense the tension.

You decide to change the subject and ask them about the other aspects of their lives. Soon you are all laughing and Tyler looks more relaxed. But the fun comes to an end when Sophia arrives at the door.

"Am I interrupting?", she asks and walks over to Tyler. You catch a glimpse of John rolling his eyes.

"What is she doing here?", you hear her say to Tyler.

Jesse and you are talking but you feel like you should leave.

"She's here to support us", he says and you're shocked at his tone.

"Please get out.. I just can't deal with you right now", he says to her and she gets up, looks at you and then leaves.

He walks out but in the other direction. You decide to follow him.

"Hey! What was that all about?", you ask him.

"As soon as this happened to my dad she completely neglected me. She had a premier the same night and when I asked her to come support me she didn't come. She had "more important things" to do. She never called the next day or even sent a text. And she only came tonight because she phoned me earlier to ask if she can come get her dress that she left at my place. I told her I was here waiting for you to arrive", he said.

"Tyler.. I'm so sorry.. but do you think you could work it out?", you ask.

"I don't think I want to work it out. Things never felt.. right with her", he says and you nod.

"At the end of the day, consider your feelings and if you think she's the one then work it out", you say and he nods.

"I know the right girl for me.. and she's looking at me right now", he says. You look up at him and see that he has made a few steps towards you.

He grabs one of your hands and runs his fingers across your knuckles.

"If you will have me, can we try again?", he asks.
