Chapter 4: Everything Isn't Okay

Sonic's Pov:
I'm not surprised that Rookie has run off. Yes I'm worried but...the way he's acting lately sorta ties in with why he ran off. After all, this is already the 5th time he ran. "This is getting weird every time we mention Infinite, he runs off crying." Amy said with confusion.

"We probably shouldn't judge him after all he was tricked by Infinite as well as being forced to fuse into Perfect Infinity." Tails responded. "We all know what happened but when they fused, everything went a bit too quickly for us to understand." Sliver said stepping into the conversation.

In a few minutes, everyone in the room started arguing about Rookie. Some defending him while others said he choose to become Perfect Infinity. I wanted to stop this argument but then I saw Rookie at the door.

Gadget's Pov:
I took in the scene as I saw everyone arguing over something while Sonic is standing. "S-Sonic? What's going on?" I asked very quietly so only he could hear. He went over to me and we both stepped outside. "Everyone is just frustrated today that's all." He responded giving a pat on the back.

"How come?" I asked as we both sat down. "I guess ever since the war ended everyone has been scared, confused, and insure to say the least." Sonic said facing at the ground. He was right everyone was stressed out from the war and been confused since well the fusion took place.

"So...has Rouge found um Infinite yet?" I asked hesitantly. As much as I didn't want to say Infinite's name it had to be done, the subject had to change. "Not yet, she's been searching everywhere but no traces of him. Although we have been noticing that there are still clones of Chaos and Metal Sonic around." Sonic explained.
Just when I wanted to say something, we heard Vector call out Sonic's name. We got up and entered the base once again. "Good thing, Rookie came back. We're receiving a call from Rouge." Knuckles said facing the computer on the table. We answered the call to see Rouge in complete distress.

"Glad you answered, I didn't find Infinite but I found Gears." She said looking down. "Wait? What do you mean!?" I asked getting worried. "Well Gears seems to have been attacked by someone. I tried waking him up but no use. He might be in critical condition, I need one of you guys to come." She explained.

"We're on it Rouge. Just stay there and help Gears in any way possible." Knuckles said and turned off the call. Everyone stared at me since I was completely scared and nervous for my little brother. "Come on Rookie, me and Tails will help out your brother." Sonic said already at the door with Tails.

"Don't call me that! My name is Gadget! Now Let's go!" I yelled out. They flinched but I pushed them aside. All of sudden, I didn't feel nervous or scared anymore. Those emotions went away as Rage overtook me.
