I will get to Live Action Movies Tomorrow as that is the plan for the last top 5 for 2017......BECAUSE THIS YEAR CAN'T SEEM TO DIE FASTER!
Xander please for the love of Disney calm down!
NO! Wait love of Disney?
I want to try something different other than for the love of God.
Slanted word dude, you're weird.
Anyway, time to talk about......Animation.
These are my picks for the top 5 best Animated Movies of 2017!
5) Despicable Me 3:
Okay I know everyone wants to set those Minions on fire, I would do the same except my 2 year old cousin would hate me for the rest of my life.....she's a baby, okay!
Well not the best which is why its at number 5 but.....we really didn't have much to talk about when it came to Illumination Animated movies, especially since they now have to recast a role for the Secret Life of Pets sequel.
4) Captain Underpants, The First Epic Movie:
Did anyone else read the books as a kid?
*Hands Raised*
Awesome! Honestly these books were long overdue from any adaption, TV, Movie, whatever! I'm actually surprised no one is really talking about this movie, it is exactly like the books! Unlike most book to movie adaptions......I'm not forgiving anyone for the Mike Myers Cat in the Hat alright! Anyway there is no word yet on a sequel but DreamWorks, who made the movie, is working on a TV show coming to Netflix next year, and I'm gonna go on a little tangent here saying, DreamWorks, stop making TV Shows out of litterally all your movies.
You think I'm kidding? Well take a look at the series, Home: The Adventures of Tip and Oh! That came out at least a year after the movie, and now Trolls is getting the TV treatment, even The Boss Baby is getting a Netflix show.
DreamWorks, NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE TURNED INTO A NETFLIX SHOW. But please continue Voltron: Legendary Defender, just give it a DVD release in the near future....Please?
3) Cars 3:
Looks Cars was mediocre at best, and Cars 2, I'm not gonna sugar coat it, it was trash, but Cars 3, its an improvement over the last one 6 years ago....wait 6 years ago? DAMN I'm starting to get old, not as old as the 12 year olds who probably saw this because the franchise is as old as them! No offence By the way!
Also I like to point out, we literally had to sit through 3 Cars movies before we finally get this:
I know for a fact me and my friends will be the only child-less adults in that theater opening weekend.
2) Pokemon The Movie: I Choose You:
So this didn't get a wide release here in America, in fact it was only in theaters for like 2 weeks then dumped onto Disney XD Thanksgiving weekend.
Now this is a retelling of the being of the Pokemon anime that I think we have all watched it at one point in our lives. In fact I can't remember I time before Pokemon, I wish I were joking, I'm 20 years old and yet I don't remember a time without Pikachu, who for some reason spoke words in this movie that managed to make an entire go ApeShit.....Oops, Spoiler alert.
Honorable Mentions:
The Lego Ninjago Movie:
I was planning on putting this on the list like a few months ago, yes I think in advance, but as it turns out, it didn't do well in the box office, from what I heard the movie was pretty good, much better than that TV show on Cartoon Network, which in my opinion should move channels, we all know why with Cartoon Network Scheduale. I think the reason why this didn't do so well and Lego Batman was a major cash cow was probably because of Brand Recognition. We all know who Batman is, but did any of you hear about Ninjago before this movie came out, and I'm talking about both the show and toys.
Ferdinand:
I honestly don't care for most of Blue Sky Studios' Movies, and this is one of those movie I was thinking going to be labeled as MEH. Plus Blue Sky used to do Good movies, then they started following the DreamWorks formula and well, have you seen the degrading quality of each Ice Age Movie......YEAH! My trust in the Studio is in Limbo, and this is coming from someone that enjoyed the release of the Peanuts movie a few years ago, except that would've been done better without the CGI.
And the Number 1 animated movie of 2017 is.......
1) COCO:
Pixar has done it again! While their earlier release this year, aka Cars 3, this movie has become this year's Frozen as it is also Pixar's First Musical! Weird it litterally took them until now to make a musical.
But sadly, this movie met with a little unwanted controversy, because harassment allegations can't just stop it has to get worse in other terms, John Lasseter I used to like you! Thankfully he is only just a sliver of Pixar and Disney Animation as he only produces now. Also the Olaf's Frozen Adventure Featurette which took 21 minutes before the movie but that got removed in the Mexican Screenings and has since been removed here in the US.
Also to my international readers, this will be rolling out to you guys next month, which is kinda weird because, you guys got Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 like a week before we did. But I can tell you this, its worth the wait, lets hope Incredibles 2 is also worth the wait.
We get it you want to see Incredibles 2!
I've been waiting 14 years for this movie........14 Years? Christ I'm old!
Okay uh.....I'm gonna go, I will be back tomorrow for the final top 5 of 2017.
