Its that time of year, where the Simpsons break out of their usual, or in this case unusual, antics to take on pop culture in 3 separate stories, and with Number XXVIII airing this Sunday, its time to talk the Top 5 Best Simpson's Treehouse of Horror Episodes.
Note: I'm going by the whole episode and Not the segments itself. Also I'm using Roman Numerals because its how they do it.
5) Treehouse of Horror V:
I think this would be the first time the Simpson's went from Cartoony Scary to So scary! Begining with an homage to the television show, "The Outer Limits," and continuing on with a sketch based on the Stanley Kubrick film Adaption of Steven King's The Shining, wow just by saying that sent chills up my spine, a segment which actually felt like something from The Outer Limits or The Twilight Zone where Homer messes with time, like if you step on a bug you change the course of history, which is how I explain the past 2 years of recent history, and the final segment which is either based off of, "Fried Green Tomatoes," or, "Soylent Green," as the teachers started eating the Students of Springfield Elementary, and man did that mess with me as a kid. But I think my favorite part of this episode is the running Gag when groundskeeper Willie gets killed by an Ax in each segment.
4) Treehouse of Horror XXV
Starting off with our favorite two aliens in the Simpsons world, Kang and Kodos, the episode had a sketch where Bart and Lisa literally go to a school in Hell, which is quite ironic because, isn't school another word for Hell? Heyoh!!!! The 2nd sketch being a severely condense version of the Stanley Kubrick film A Clockworth Orange, even ending with an Homage to Kubrick's perfection obsession, get that rhymed. And finally a sketch involving The Current Simpsons designs meeting their former selves from their Tracey Ullman days, which in my opinion had more significance against the other sketches, why, well look at what happened at the end of the episode:
Okay before you ask why CGI Homer sounds different, it is because he is Voiced by John Ratzenberger, who is known mainly for voicing a character in every Pixar Movie, I'm surprised they were able to get Pixar's Good Luck Charm to voice a character, also CGI Santa's Little Helper should be put to sleep, no pun intended.
3) Treehouse of Horror XIX
Starting off with a joke about the 2008 Election, which in my opinion would've been better for the 2016 one, the shows starts with a Parody of the Micheal Bay Transformers movies, Homer Killing Celebrities so Advertisers could use their Likeness in commercials without paying, but that is different now because of Michael Jackson's family, and ending on what would happen if that so called, "Great Pumpkin," from the Charlie Brown Special did show.
2) Treehouse of Horror XXVI:
A little bit special compared to the other episodes because this was also the 600th episode of the show. Starting off with a weird pardooy of both The Hunger Games and Mad Max: Fury Road, then a sketch where Lisa's old Imaginary Friend starts killing her real friends, yes Lisa actually has friends despite her always saying she has none, and finally a sketch based around the Bond Movies as well as Kingsman: The Secret Service, then ending with this:
I really hope the people behind the Bond Franchise won't sue.
1) Treehouse of Horror III:
My personal favorite as this one started off with an homage to Alfred Hitchcock, aka one of the Best Dirrectors of all Time, taking place at a Halloween party, the characters tell stories, Lisa tells a story about a cursed Krusty the Clown doll who wants to Kill Homer, Grandpa Simpson retells the film King Kong, long before Peter Jackson did in 2005, (I was going to mention the 2017 movie but I forgot how to spell the Director's name) starring Homer as Kong, and finally Bart tells the story about him finding a mystical book full of evil spells and starts the Zombie Apocalypse, when all he was doing was trying to Bring Snowball I back from the Grave.
So is there an Treehouse of Horror Episode/Sketch you liked that wasn't on my List, if so tell me in the comments.
Also sorry for making you read in Roman Numerals.
