AOA has three sub units: AOA Black, AOA White, and AOA Cream. AOA Black is a band unit and AOA White is a dance unit. The group debuted with 7 full members (also known as angels) and one half angel, YooKyoung. AOA got their first music show win on Inkigayo on February 9, 2014 with "Miniskirt". For June of 2014, their music video for "Short hair" ranked eight on the Billboard's Most Viewed K-Pop Videos Around the World. The group performed at KCON 2015 in Los Angeles and New York. On October 15, 2016 FNC announced that YouKyoung had left the group after her contract ended, but she will continue to be a guest member in future AOA Black activities. Then on June 30, 2017 FNC confirmed that ChoA had left the group for personal health reasons.
