They chose the name Cosmic Girls because they want to transcend time and space and become the best girl group of all time. They promote in China under the name YZSN and in Korea as WJSN. Cosmic Girls has four sub units: Wonder Unit, Joy Unit, Sweet Unit, and Natural Unit. These four subgroups create the acronym WJSN (Wu Ju So Nyeo) which Cosmic Girls also promotes under. Member Yeonjung was added to the group on July 11, 2016.
Seola, Exy, Soobin, Eunseo, Cheng Xiao, Yeoreum, and Dayoung teamed up with label mate Monsta X to form the unit Y-Teen. They released the song "Do Better" together.
