A collection of useful words and expressions...
*Unni: what a female calls an older female
*Oppa: what a female calls an older male (e.g. lots of female fans call male k-pop idols oppa)
*Noona: what a male calls an older female
*Hyung: what a male calls an older male
*used if you know them or the age gap is small (e.g. between members in a group)
Sunbae: someone senior to you in school, workplace, or profession
Hoobae: someone junior to you in school, workplace, or profession
Dongsaeng: what an older person calls a younger sibling or person who is in a close relationship to speaker
Hwaiting: used for encouragement or support, similar to English "Fighting!"
Bonsang: received at music awards for outstanding achievement in music
Daesang: at music awards one of the Bonsang winners is awarded this as the "Grand Prize"
Mini album; record contains no more than two or three songs and their remixes
Title track: leading track of album, has a music video (MV) released and is promoted on music shows by live performances
Repackaged album: after first promotions; album is re-released with new design and one or two new tracks one of which is is the title track with a new MV
Promotion: refers to promoting track title in television music shows, usually lasts one month: "debut stage" for newcomers, "comeback stage" for regulars, "goodbye stage" at end of cycle
