Jay Park is a solo artist and co-founder of AOMG. He debuted with 2PM in 2008 but returned home to Seattle a year later when comments he made about South Korea in 2005 resurfaced. They were taken out of context and misinterpreted by the media however people did not realize that until later. Protesters demanded he be removed from the group and soon after the incident, Jay Park announced on his fan cafe that he would be leaving 2PM and returning to Seattle to calm everyone down. He officially left the group in early 2010. After he left, 2PM performed at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2009 where they paid homage to him during their performance of "Again & Again". They left a spotlight showing over his usual position in the dance formation and his lines unsung to signify that they wanted him to return to the group. When he returned to the States he resumed activities with b-boying group called Art of Movement. In March he uploaded his own rap, lyrics and cover of B.o.B's "Nothin' on You" which went viral, receiving over 2 000 000 views in 24 hours. Because of his video, the original song by B.o.B and Bruno Mars topped the Cyworld music chart mere hours after Jay Park released his video. In June, B.o.B released 'Nothin' on You' featuring Jay Park in South Korea and sold more than 5 million copies. He returned to South Korea in June 2010 and signed with SidusHQ to re-debut as a solo singer and actor. Upon his arrival at the airport he was greeted by thousands of fans, making history as the biggest crowd ever at Incheon International Airport as of 2010. After releasing "Take a Deeper Look" in 2011 he became the first ever artist crowned with a #1 (winner) on his debut stage. Also in 2011 he was the sole opener for American artist, Ne-Yo's first concert in Seoul. On May 16, 2012 he released his first mixtape Fresh A1r: Breathe !t which was certified Gold by Datpiff within a month of its release making Jay Park the first artist of Asian origin to achieve this result on Datpiff. On December 1, 2012 he hosted the Saturday Night Live Korea episode and brought in the highest rating of the season for that show. In 2013, he featured on the cover of the March edition of Men's Health Korea magazine which was later chosen by staff as the best in the magazine's 7-year history. In 2013 he was personally contacted by Will and Jaden Smith to ask him if he would participate in the soundtrack for American science-fiction thriller movie After Earth (later released "I Like 2 Party" for it). Will Smith is one of his fans. He later founded the label AOMG and became the Co-CEO of it. AOMG is an independent hip hop record. He also created the label a global label called H1GHR MUSIC. In 2017 he was listed on Forbes' 30 Under 30 Asia Entertainment and Sports.
