(A/N: I AM FINALLY BACK FROM CAMPING OML IVE BEEN DYING TO UPDATE. FHEISKJSJNWHDJWJE IM BACK LOVELIES!)
School the next day didn't seem as torturous as it was before. Mark seemed to be on your mind more than you thought he would. You never knew there was another side to him, a sweeter and more soft side. He always portrayed the bad ass, tough, rough and nothing but trouble vibe to people. To you though, you began to see through his little facade.
You walked to school with a little more bounce in your step, actually glad to be going there. The fact that you had someone you can talk to now, made you extremely happy. You made it to school, heading to your locker. It was a gray and bleak day, but nothing seemed to poke holes in your sunshine mood. People were already coming in early, chatter filling the air. Thunder rumbled outside and the sound of rain could be heard above you.
"Looks like Markimoo isn't here to protect your loser ass, huh?" Your hand froze on your locker, your eyes widening. No,no,no. You turned, seeing Jane standing there. She had her arms crossed, her uniform showing through her unzipped jacket. She flipped her hair away from her shoulders, glaring at you. As usual, her group of bitches stood around her, sneering at you.
"You shouldn't have messed with me then." You found yourself speaking, instantly regretting it. Jane giggled, shaking her head in amusement. You gulped, wishing you could take the words back.
"Oh, so now you have a mouth on you."
"I-I'm so sorry, Jane. I didn't mean t-"
"No, no. It's okay, just know you deserve what's coming to you." Her voice was dropping with venom and sounded harsh in your ears. You didn't say anything as they turned away and headed to class. You grabbed your stuff and tried to forget Jane's words as you went on with your day. You didn't have much classes with Mark, but when you did, you didn't utter a word about Jane. People gave you surprised looks when you would move seats to sit next to Mark.
You didn't worry about their whispering, you were beginning to like Mark a lot more. He acted like a hard ass to anyone, but you. With you, he made you laugh and feel like he was one of your closest friends. His chocolate eyes melted when they met yours, his smile was shining more whenever you two spoke. You were feeling warm all over, knowing that you were the cause of Mark's mood change.
You soon excused yourself to the bathroom, your shoes echoing down the hall. You were just about to the bathroom when you gasped, being scared by Jane. She stepped out from a corner, a smirk on her face. You held your chest, glaring at her.
"Oh, sorry. Did I scare you?" She asked, chuckling. You shook your head, turning around only to be stopped by a few of Jane's friends. Your mouth dropped open, your fear rising. Jane stepped forward, clenching his fists.
"I told you you'd get what you deserve." She said, a smile on her lips. You stuttered for words, not being able to form the plea you wanted to say. Jane made a grab for you, but you jumped out of the way and started running down the hallway. You could the others running after you, your feet slapping the tiled floor. You slammed into the doors, bursting out into the rain. It pelted your head and ran into your eyes as you blindly ran onto the football field.
The wind whirled around you as the water soaked into your clothes. You couldn't hear anything at the storm roared in your ears. You looked back to see Jane catching up, her laugh getting lost in the wind. You gasped for air, pumping your legs to go faster.
"GET BACK HERE YOU BITCH!" Jane screamed, reaching her hand out. Your legs gave out as soon as her fingers gripped the back of your hoodie. You cried out, toppling to the ground with Jane falling on top of you. The mud chilled you to the bone, the rain falling in your face. Jane straddled you, keeping your hands tightly locked. She stared in your eyes, smiling.
"The more you struggle, the more this'll hurt." She said, digging her nails into the back of your hand. You thrashed around, screaming in her face as you threw your legs. She growled, rocking back and using her free hand to drive into your nose. You heard a crack as a burst of pain shot through your face. You felt warm liquid run down your nose as you sobbed.
You turned your head, getting hit in the side of your face. You groaned, finally looking up at her. You had a feeling she's been wanting to do this ever since she laid eyes on you. Why, you didn't know.
"W-What did I d-do...to deserve this?" You stuttered, your face throbbing immensely. She tapped her chin, her knuckles red and irritated from the contact of your face. She leaned down close, the rain stinging in your eyes.
"Why? Because you breathe." The words were hard to swallow. How could someone hate you this much, and not even know you? You flinched away as she went to go drive another punch, but someone stopped her. She yelped, a large hand wrapping around her wrist. Before she knew it, she was being thrown aside in the mud. Your eyes were blurry and you couldn't seem to focus on the person picking you up. The only thing that gave it away was the soaked red hair plastered to his head.
"What the fuck! You don't deserve this! You've never deserved this! Why can people..how can people..fuck!" He cursed, jogging quickly to somewhere passed the school. You laid you head on his chest, still crying. Finally, the rain stopped hiring you as he laid you in his car, running to the driver's seat. He slammed the door, turning on the car and blasting the heat. You were trembling as you wiped away the tears and cleaned your bloody face off with your sleeve.
"You don't deserve any of this."
"Why do you care." You spit, holding your sleeve against your nose to stop the bleeding. Mark looked over your face, seeing the swelling and bruising start to form. His heart hurt at the sight. He shook his head, running a hand through his wet hair. He leaned closer, holding your beaten face in his hands. You froze, your hands wrapping around both of his wrists gently.
"Yes, I'm the bad boy. I'm the one that people fear of in school. I'm the one with the dyed hair and bad ass tattoos. I'm the one who will beat a kid for looking at me sideways. Yes, I'm the bad boy who everyone fears. But...(Y/N)...you're the only one I don't want to be afraid." He whispered, looking into your eyes. You gulped, your heart pounding at his words. He used his thumb and wiped away a trickle of blood running down your cheek. You sniffled, leaning closer.
"Then I won't be." You said, your voice choked and croaky. He pressed his lips against yours, kissing you softly. Never would you have thought this bad boy would have a soft heart for you. You kissed him back, his touches were feather like and slow. He pulled away, his hand moving down to intertwine with one of yours.
"If you'll let me, I'll protect you. This shit, will never happen again. I want to be the one who protects you. I need to be the one who protects you. You mean too much to me, please. I can't handle you getting hurt again." You winced at the pain in your face, but suddenly felt at ease. Relief flooded through you as you looked over Mark. With his bright red hair and scary tattoos crawling all up his arms and neck, the piercings in him and the bulky build of his body, he was the scariest bad boy in school.
A quiet and shy broken girl, matched with a tatted up angry boy?
It was a perfect match..
