Bill's POV

I ran through the trees, faster than I had ever gone before, to the Mystery Shack. It had to be real this times. It just had to.

When the Shack first came came into view, I ran up the stairs and reached out to grasp the door knob.

And then it all disappeared.

I was kneeling down on the hard ground, sweat and tears running down my face. I thought I had it this time. I was so sure...

I stood up, wiped my face, and looked around. It was completely dark. I could see no one, and it was silent. All I could hear was by heart beating fast in my chest, my breathing was ragged, and my hair fell down in front of my eyes.

It was all a dream.

How many times was I going to be fooled? It isn't real, and I knew it! But then, what if it suddenly was?

Suddenly, a bright light appeared behind me. It was so bright that I had to shield my eyes from it, and even then I felt as if I was being blinded.

A figure stepped towards me, but I could not see who it was. They reached out a hand towards me. I hesitantly took their hand. Their touch felt oddly familiar.

They pulled me into the light with them, and once again, I found myself lying on a hard, cold floor.

Dipper's POV

Mabel and I walked out of the Police station. She tried putting an arm around me, but I pushed her away.

I was still furious.

"How could they just call off the search like that?!" I said. "Its not fair!"

"I know, Dipper. But-"

"But what, Mabel? They're giving up! They're not giving themselves a chance to find him! It's only been a year, they can't just quit."

Mabel did not respond.

We kept walking. I didn't know where we were going to go, but I didn't want to go back to the Shack. I'm not sure how long we walked. Maybe an hour or two. But eventually, Mabel had gotten tired.

"I'm gonna go home, Dipper." She said, and walked away, leaving me alone.

I walked past the dinner. I was painfully reminded of the many times me and Bill had gone there together, and how he would always complain about how much ice they would put in his drink.

I felt a smile forming on my lips, but when I remembered that those memories were pretty much all I had left of him, it quickly vanished.

I sat down on the park bench, my legs had begun to ache. A gust of wind passed by, blowing my hair into my face. As I reached my had up to brush it back to the side, I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked over, but saw nothing.

I stuffed my hands in my pockets and put my hood up. The bitter autumn wind was nipping at my face and ankles.

I looked ahead at the mass of trees that I knew if I walked through would lead me straight to the Shack.

Again, I thought I saw moment in the trees ahead of me. Must just be the wind, I thought.

The wind started blowing harder. I decided it was about time I went back to the Shack. I stood up and made my way towards the trees.

As I neared the edge of the edge of the woods, I heard a twig crack. I stopped walking, and looked into the trees once more. It has to be an animal, or something.  But then, a tall, hooded figure stepped out of the woods before me.

It stopped dead in its tracks when it looked over and saw me. It lowered the yellow hood off of its head. Bill's icy blue eyes pierced mine, his golden hair waved in the wind, and his pale, freckled skin glowed against the sunset.

For a moment, neither of us said a word. Tears silently streamed down both of our faces. And then he finally spoke.

"P-Pinetree? I-Is it really y-you?" He said. I had almost forgotten how much I loved the soft, gentle sound of his voice.

We ran and hugged each other both as hard as we could. His warmth spread through me like a wild fire, and our heartbeats seemed in tune.

"B-Bill! Oh my god, it's actually you!!!" I said, and quietly began to sob.

He released me for a second and gently cupped my face in his hands. He stared into my eyes for what seemed like the longest time.

"I've missed you." He said.

"I've missed you so much more." I said.

And then he pulled me close once more, and kissed me. It was the most love filled, and passionate kiss I had ever received from him. He held me close, our lips connected, and suddenly, I felt happy again.
