(Narrator's pov)
"Here you are my King, your mid-afternoon tea is ready.", Lucy smiled while adjusting her apron.
The king thanked the young blonde and excused her. Today was Grand Magic Ball, it was going to be held here in the Crocus Palace. Sadly it was also a party for the Prince to meet someone, Lucy had fallen hopelessly in love with Prince
(y/n) the day their eyes met. Lucy knew she didn't stand a chance against royalty though, she was well aware that there was no way in hell that she'd get his attention.
The clock struck six and Lucy knew what to do. She grabbed the prince's new uniform for the ball and carried it to his room. Lightly, Lucy knocked on the door awaiting for acceptance too walk in. (Y/n) called her in and she layed the new uniform on the bed. (Y/n) always loved to see Lucy, it was a secret but he did love the young maiden. His father would never approve of it though.
"Will you be joining us on the floor today Lucy?", Prince (Y/n) asked excitedly.
Lucy shook her head in disapproval and her smile curled into a frown.
"No my Prince, I must cater the guests tonight but if I could I would be more than happy too.", Lucy admitted with a blush.
(Y/n) gently caressed Lucy's cheek and smiled,
"Fine but at least one dance, please."
Lucy was a blushing mess but she did agree. After that Lucy walked out of the room to allow (y/n) to change. She went down to the maid quarter's and sighed while plopping onto her bed and kicking off her black shoes. Her roommate Levy walked in and giggled at her friend's depressing state.
"You tried admitting again huh?", Levy sighed.
Lucy mumbled into her pillow and sighed. Levy sat next to her and patted her back. When the others came in Lucy had too get ready for the ball, she didn't want to work it, no young Lucy wanted to be in it. Levy left early to start preparations for the ball but Lucy stayed behind to sulk some more.
"Geez so pathetic if you really wanna go then go!! It's a party enjoy yourself.", someone cheered.
Lucy stared up from her pillow and wiped away her tears to see who it was. There was a salmon haired dragon boy the size of a five year old child smiling at the upset maiden. Lucy screeched in fear and threw her pillow at him, the little boy breathed fire and burned the pillow to ash.
"Hey!!! I'm trying to help ya!! Before ya ask my name's Natsu Dragneel. I'ma fire dragon spirit and I'm here to help ya get your man!!! Now shut the fuck up and change!!!", Natsu laughed.
Lucy was completely baffled but didn't move,
"I don't have anything proper enough for the ball. Even more reason for me not to go."
Natsu groaned in annoyance and once again unleashed a blaze of warm flames. The flames transformed Lucy's maid uniform into a beautifully stunning red and pink ball gown. She gasped at the beautiful attire the young dragon bestowed upon her. A small blue cat jumped onto her shoulder with a red mask in it's mouth, Lucy was completely shocked too see how much help the two creatures provided her. Natsu groaned when he noticed more tears but flushed a bright red when Lucy enveloped him in a hug.
"Thank you.", Lucy cried happily.
She bolted out of the room and to the ball room leaving the two creatures in the maid quarters.
"They'll make a good couple.", Natsu smiled at his blue cat.
They both slowly disappeared into flames and vanished.
(Ball room Y/n's pov)
All these women were ok but in my heart I could only love Lucy. It was understandable that it wasn't allowed due to her status but that didn't matter to me, I wanted everything about her too be mine alone. Her beautiful golden locks as bright as the sun, her alluring chocolate brown hues, her soft plump pink lips, and her gorgeous smooth porcelain skin. What a beauty.
"Ummm you highness...", someone called.
I looked down to see a beautiful young blonde haired woman and blushed at her. She squirmed at my (e/c) stare and blushed,
"W-would you please...c-care to dance with me.", She asked nervously.
I accepted and lead her onto the dance floor. She danced beautifully and her hands were so delicate and soft, this mysterious girl looked so familiar but from where?
I countiued to examine her quietly as we continued to dance, suddenly under her pink sleeve I saw the familiar pink mark, the virgo mark. No doubt about it, it was Lucy. Without hesitation I pressed my lips to Lucy's and didn't let go, I've waited so long to do this. Everyone in the room gasped and Lucy squeaked in fear but soon enough she melted into the kiss. I pulled away when air became necessary and smiled as I pressed a forehead against hers gently,
"You kept your promise, thank you my fair maiden."
Lucy blushed and nodded her head. We continued to dance through the night and when father finally realized how happy I was with her he allowed me to marry her. Though I didn't want to make a scene because only I should be able to make my princess cry with happiness. Lucy and I snuck away too my room laughing, when we were finally in I closed the door and we headed outside to the balcony. The stars were beautiful and shining as brightly as Lucy was but her beauty was beyond compare. Before I proposed I took off her mask and mine along with it.
"Lucy, all these years you served me as a Maid of Crocus but please I beg of you. Let me take your hand in marriage and make you my Lucy (L/n). I've loved ever since we first met and I'll continue to love you to the ends of time. Lucy Heartfilia will you marry me.", I asked blushing deep deep shades of red.
Tears of joy were flowing from her beautiful chocolate orbs and her smile was as gorgeous as ever. She nodded and cheered in agreement, I slipped the ring into her finger and we sealed our love with a long passionate kiss underneath the moon and her many stars. Little did we know a little dragon and cat were watching us.
"She'll be happy from now on. We choose the right guy for her huh Natsu?", the blue cat purred.
The dragon boy snickered and nodded in agreement,
"This whole thing reminds me of the story Igneel read to me when I was little. What was it called again? Oh yeah Cinderella but this Cinderella didn't have to go through all the mean stuff. It's a Happily ever after.", Natsu smiled.
