PROMPT:
You get extremely jealous of Carl and Enid's connection because you've known him for longer- and had previously had a moment together.

You sat on the window cill and watch Carl cradle Judith, hushing her. It was around the time a day where he'd leave and go hang with some Alexandria kids, ones that you really hadn't bothered to get to know. You knew there was a girl and you'd also overheard Carl telling Glenn how pretty he found her. Carl never called you pretty- in fact Carl hadn't said anything to you since meeting the Alexandria kids.

You'd found serenity in the house, reading old novels that bored you but also made time fly by. Carl and Judith had been out almost everyday since Alexandria and you were always left on your own.
Carl notices you staring at him and Judith and smiles.
"How you going?" he asks, his teen slang making you smile back at him.

"I'm good. Thought I might go outside today. It would be a first."
Carl played with Judith, pulling a funny face and causing the infant to bubble up with small giggles.
"You should come with me and Enid. We were gonna head outside today and kill walkers."
You smile, it was kind of him to offer but you'd rather not third wheel with the guy you liked and the girl he liked.
"You know, I'm really fine. Like I don't wanna interrupt whatever you two have."

Carl chuckles.
"Don't be stupid. I don't like her. Come on, I'm sure she'll want to meet you. You should have seen her yesterday. When she killed that walker. Oh my god was it cool. It was like- WHAM!"
Judith starts giggling and I sigh.
"Fine. I'll come. Happy?"

It was obvious to everyone who knew Carl, he was totally into this chick. Unlucky enough for you, you were totally into him. For a while back there, before Carl met Enid, you and everyone else reckoned he was into you but right now you questioned it all. He had kissed you once and it was a peck on the lips. The kinda kiss you give your grandma after not seeing her for a while. It was back in Atlanta, after Beth had died and you two had been separated.
Things had been weird afterwards. Carl spoke to you like it was no big deal and then- POW! He would be asking you to sleep in his corner with him. Now, you were sitting here- green with jealousy. Only agreeing to come with him today so you could check out your competition with this so called bad ass Enid chick.

"Yeah. I am. Why do you always have to be so touchy?" he asks, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm not." you say, avoiding eye contact.
"Okay then, jealous bug, lets go."

You stand up and watch Carl hand Judith to someone in the next room, he returns, walking close to you.
As you exit the house, you nudge him slightly.
"By the way, Cowboy, I'm not jealous. Get your head out of your ass."

Carl smirks and the two of you make your way behind some houses. Enid, a tall girl with straight brown hair and blue eyes sits cross legged in front of the wall.
She jerks up, alarmed.
"Carl. You're here. Who's this?" she asks. Carl places a hand on your shoulder. God, what was this, some sort of playdate?
"I'm y/n. You must be Enid. Carl wouldn't shut-" you begin, only to be interrupted by Carl who nudges you hard in the stomach with his elbow.
"You bring your knives?" Enid says, standing up. You nod and Carl begins climbing the wall.
Enid follows him and you follow her, grunting as you scale the tall wall.
Carl vanishes over and soon Enid does, leaving you to make the huge jump. You do though, landing with a thud. Carl grips your hand and helps you up, sighing.

The three of you venture off into the woods, Carl making google eyes at Enid the whole time. You trudge along behind, horridly third wheeling. In front of you, you watch Enid reach for Carl's hand. he grips it and the two of them continue, hand in hand. That was you once, on your way to Alexandria. You remembered the feeling of his warm hand, gripping yours. It made your heart fall into your chest. Boy, jealous was an understatement. You were fuming.
You turn around, walking the opposite directions, heavy footsteps crushing every leave.
Carl turns his head and glances to you.
"Y/N? Where are you going? The walkers are this way." He shouts.
You shoot him a glare and throw your arms in the air.
"You know, Carl- when you go on a date with some random that you met in a teenage boys bedroom, you don't invite the chick you kissed less than a month ago to awkwardly third wheel."
You then take off in a sprint, hearing Carl's footsteps behind you. You tell yourself not to cry. You were tougher than this. You just felt so embarrassed, so fooled!
As you reach the wall and stop, catching your breath.
"Go away!" you scream at Carl, noticing he's alone.

"Y/n, calm down okay?" he says. "This wasn't a date."
You step closer to him, your face just inches to his.
"How could you? How could you reach out and hold her hand? When I was just BEHIND you!?"
He shakes his head. "Yeah- it was a mistake! But I don't like her! It's just good to see a girl my age- another girl."

You scrunch up your face, holding back the instinct to slap him.
"Oh! So I'm not good enough for you? That wasn't what went through your mind when you kissed me! God. You're such an asshole."

You turn around but he grabs your arm, pulling you back and placing his lips on yours. This time the kiss is different- the kinda kiss you give a girl you've liked for the whole time you've known her.
"I don't like HER! I like you! Always have!"
You smirk at him, punching his shoulder lightly.
"well- cowboy, you coulda fooled me."
