It's been two months. Two whole months of being broken up with Erik. You were starting to get better, but it was a struggle. Your mind kept drifting to that night two months ago.

Flashback

"I just don't know if I can handle you being away all the time." You say quietly over the phone to Erik.

"What are you trying to tell me?" He sounds panicked, already knowing the answer.

"I-I just don't think we are going to work." You stutter, tears filling your eyes.

"Are we breaking up?" He whispers.

"Yes." You hang up immediately, so he won't hear you cry. He was on a road trip so that gave you time to pack your things, and stay with a friend for awhile, so that's just what you did. You packed up and left.

End of Flashback

Now, you were doing the grocery shopping for you and your best friend. You had agreed to do it because she was so generous to let you stay with her until you got a place of your own. As you are picking out avocados, you hear male's voice.

"Y/N?" You freeze, you would recognize that voice anywhere. You turn around and see Erik standing in front of you.

"Erik...hi." You let out a nervous breath. He scans you up and down.

"How are you?" He asks.

"I've been fine." Lie. You think to yourself.

"I...I miss you." He whispers. Your heart stops, you don't really know what to say. Erik keeps speaking, knowing that you won't say anything. "Where did you go when I got back? You were just gone. I thought we would talk about what happened. But you ran, what are you so afraid of?" He gets angrier as he speaks, and you feel guilt wash over you.

"I-I don't know." You stutter, afraid to answer. He steps closer to you, and you breathe in his familiar scent.

His eyes are intense and he says, "Yes you do. Tell me, I want to fix us."

You sigh in defeat, "With you being gone all the time, I thought I would lose you. That one day, you would come back with someone else and we would be over. So, I ended it before you could." A tear escapes your eye, and he gently wipes it away.

"That is ridiculous. I love you. The last two months have been miserable without you. Will you please come home?"

"I love you too. Do you really want me back?"

"Of course, and if it will make you more comfortable, come on road trips with me. The road gets lonely sometimes, and I could really use your lovely smile around more often. I really missed it." You give him a grin, and he smiles back at you. He leans into you slowly and pulls you into a hug, holding you closer than he has before.

"I missed this." You tell him. He pulls away and clutches your hand.

"Let's go home."
