A Little Rant

Okay, I really need to get a few things off my chest. I'm putting it here instead of on my message board, because it will contain strong language and refer to mature themes (nothing explicit here, don't worry).

Some people may feel offended by what I am going to write - and no, I am not sorry for that!

Recently, I've noticed a very worrying increase in so-called lemons with very questionable content.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a pretty open minded person. I read lemons, and I have written two myself (not the works I'm most proud of but still), but they would always be consensual between people in a mature relationship, and I aim to write them realistically and in a context (i.e. with some actual plot around the smut).

We may be making stories about fictional cartoon (or toy) characters, but if we have them do 'human things', we should also apply the same moral standards we apply to ourselves.

Rape/non-con, incest, pedophilia etc are not acceptable.

(I am not referring to stories dealing, in a mature and realistic way, with the trauma and consequences of such events, but to one shots that are pretty much pwp.)

Not only is it plain wrong and disgusting. But if we trivialise these serious topics, there is also a huge risk that we will not take them as seriously in real life as we should (remember #metoo?!)!!!

I will NEVER support any writer who writes these kind of stories! And I have unfollowed more than one person because of this.

And there is no excuse such as 'it was a request'. A request is optional; the writer is the one who ultimately makes the decision, puts their time and effort into the story, publishes under their name and, by that, takes full responsibility. And why would you waste your time writing disgusting shit that you don't agree with anyway?

So, please have a little think about what you and read write.
