Last day of the month and time for another little story 😂. As mentioned in the first part, I had already had an account on fanfiction.net for about a year before I joined wattpad. But how did I get there?
I first discovered Ninjago in early 2015 - blame it on getting a tablet and Netflix for Christmas 2014. The first episode I ever watched (I think it was the first - definitely one of the first ones) was 'Tick Tock' (which, to be honest, left me both curious and a little bit confused) - and we all know which one comes after that 😉: 'Once Bitten, Twice Shy' which made me fall in love with an adorable blue Ninja, and then 'The RoyalBlacksmiths', one of my all-time favourite episodes.
So, I eventually ended up watching everything available on Netflix (at that time only the pilots and seasons 1-2), and then discovered that there was more on CN. 'Tournament of Elements', which had just been released, then completely got me into the show (it is my second favourite season after HoT). But I was also wondering what had happened between seasons 2 and 4, in particular between Jay and Nya.
So, I went on google which somehow brought me to fanfiction.net and Curious Me started reading a bit, first as a guest though. I know some of my wattpad readers and friends are also on FF so I'm now gonna advertise some of my favourite writers and stories from 'over there':
One of the very first stories I read on FF was 'Do You Like Blue?' by VelvetPersona. As the title suggests, it is an amazing Jaya story, set after OBTS. It has since been re-written under the title 'The Makings of a Storm' (Nya is the Master of Wind in this one):

It is also the first book in a completed series called 'Elements'. Unfortunately, the second series (called 'Trials and Tribulations') appears to have been abandoned but the existing books, in particular this one, are definitely worth a read!
For quite a while, I continued like this, without having an account. I eventually started posting reviews (still as a guest), before I finally decided to join FF in May 2016, because I wanted to leave named reviews and also follow my favourite authors and stories. (It took me a few more weeks before I decided (i.e. was brave enough) to try writing and posting my own stories.)
And I would like to highlight these four books/book series that were mainly responsible for the decision to join FF:
'The Fire within a Ninjago Soldier' by MayorOfNinjagoCity (yes, she is here as well!). It is actually a sequel (the first book is called 'The Fire within a Ninjago Cowboy' which has also now been published on wattpad), but it was the first book by MNC that I discovered:

(It is a Kai x OC story but even as a Kailor fan, I love the books and the pairing!)
Another 'fantastic' book that is still in progress is 'The Fantastic Mr Walker' by ShinyShiny9:

It is undoubtedly one of the best and most popular fanfics in the Ninjago Fandom on FF.
Unfortunately, the next story, In Another World' by LadyMarissaGarmadon, has been taken down (it was complete) as it is being rewritten as a trilogy. So no picture here ☹️.
One of my favourite writers on FF was/is Blessed by Farore (she used to be called ApocalypseNinja). Sadly, she has kinda lost interest in the show, due to disappointment in the newer seasons, and has discontinued and deleted a lot of her amazing Ninjago fanfics. She had started a series called 'Destinies Path', and I really hope she will find the motivation to continue this one at some point. The first two books were complete and, if you like Jaya, I would highly recommend reading them.

The first book, Like Thunder and Lightning, is a great Jaya-centred story - I actually re-read it once in a while. And the second book, Perception of Reality introduces one of the most interesting OCs I have ever seen in the fandom (and it still has quite a good bit of Jaya 😉).
I have links to all of these books/writers on my profile on FF, under the same username as here. Which brings me now to the final part of this little tale.
When I joined FF in May 2016, I just couldn't think of a good username. I wanted some connection to Ninjago, and I love baking and cakes so I went with MasterofCupcakes... (back then I didn't know that you can have spaces between words in your username 😂).
I had always intended to change it once I would have come up with a better idea, until in October 2016, a writer called Titanium Jay (now JRR Not-Tolkien) issued a challenge 'Write a Ninjago fanfic based off your username', and I wrote this one, probably one of the most ridiculous stories ever made (but it turned out to be surprisingly popular):

If you look at the dates, you'll notice it took me quite a while to finish it, so I didn't want to change my username while the book was in process. And by the time it was finally complete, I was kinda known under this name and had also joined this site here, so... I've kept it, even still without the spaces.
And that's the end of the story of how I became (and stayed) the MasterofCupcakes 😉.
Btw, I am still waiting for the iOS update that will finally include the cupcake emoji. So have some cookies instead as a thank you to all my followers and friends, both here and on FF: 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪
