Queen Isabella

September 2nd, 1542

I sat in the carriage beside Henry and smiled as we were getting closer to Frederiksborg Castle. Both Jason and Matthew would be greeting us along with members of the court.

"Are you happy to be a home mama?" Edward asked as he fixed his coat and I nodded.

"I am. I grew up here a lot instead of the other castles and I am very happy to be home." I said before I looked over to Henry who looked as if he was in pain.

"Are you alright?"

"Fine Bella." He said quickly and I nodded before the carriage stopped and I looked out the window and smiled when I saw the castle and everyone waiting for us.

As the trumpets began to play and Bash opened the door for me I inhaled the Danish air and grinned as I grabbed Bashes hand and climbed out.

"Her Majesty! Queen Isabella of Denmark, Norway, and England!" Jason annouced as everyone fell to their knees to bow to me.

I lifted my hand and waved before I stepped to the side and everyone else climbed out of the carriage behind me. I took little Henry out of Elizabeth's arms and stepped towards Jason and Matthew who stood up and smiled at me.

"Welcome home, Your Majesty." They both said and I nodded my head at them.

"It is wonderful to be home. Is it all set for me to meet with Gustaf in five days?" I asked as we began making our way inside the castle.

"Yes, will King Henry be riding with you?" Jason asked as he sent a glance to Henry.

"Of course I will. I shall be on my wife's side." Henry said as he puffed his cheeks to hide a cough. I stared at Henry for a moment before following Jason and Matthew into the throne room. I could not help but smile as I saw my throne.

As I untied my cloak and handed it to Greer before I stood in front of my throne and sat down. I closed my eyes and sat there for a moment before I opened my eyes and looked down at Henry in my arms.

"Det føles godt at være hjemme." (It feels good to be home.) I whispered before I looked to everyone.

"Henry, why don't you show the children their rooms and then you can rest?" I offered and Henry nodded as he scooped Christian into his arms.

"Of course. Shall we come down to join you for lunch?" He asked and I smiled at him.

"Please, I just want to speak to these two about Gustaf," I said and Henry nodded as he ushered the little ones out of the room. Aylee walked towards me and took Henry out of my arms before going to the nursery.

"Har der været nyheder om Gustaf?" (Has there been news of Gustaf?) I asked Matthew who shook his head.

"Meget lille. Vores mænd siger, at han bare bliver i lejren nær grænserne." (Very little. Our men say he just stays at the camp by the boarders.) He stated and I nodded as I lifted my head.

"He shall either leave or a war he shall get," I confirmed and they both bowed their heads.

"You give the command and we shall go to war, Your Majesty," Jason promised and I nodded as I sat back on my throne.

"You two have been very loyal since I was eighteen. Here we are five years later and you two are still loyal. I thank you for that."

"We serve at the pleasure of the crown." They recited just like they did when they offered themselves to my service.

"You two may go. I just want one moment before I go to my family." I said and the two bowed their heads before walking out of the room. I saw Greer standing in the corner and I waved her over as I stood up.

"Do you remember when we first met?" I asked and Greer nodded.

"We were so young. Now look at us, married and with children." She said and I nodded.

"I remember being so confused seeing you clean. I wanted you as my friend instead."

"And you got more than a friend. You got a sister." She said and I laughed before hugging her softly.

"Greer, I thank you for staying by my side through all of this."

"Bella, I would not want to be anywhere else. Are you alright?" She questioned and I took a deep breath as I stepped away from her and looked towards the balcony.

"I am scared that once I meet with Gustaf he will say something that will declare war. I am not afraid to go to war but I am afraid I shall never be the same after." I confessed but Greer shook her head.

"You can never change Bella. So if we need to go to war then so be it. You shall be victorious. You are a power Queen. Show Gustaf Denmark and Norway bows to no one."

"Greer? I'm scared Henry might die soon." I whispered and Greer shook her head.

"He is just sick at the moment. I will tell the physician to go visit him." She stated but I shook my head.

"He has been ill for months. There was a jousting accident when Elizabeth was a year old. He recieved a nasty gash to his leg and it keeps reopening." I explained as I stepped towards the balcony doors and saw my people walking around.

"I am terrified he will die. I love Henry but the wishes he has if he ever dies." I began before I heard my voice crack and Greer wrapped her arms around me and held me close to her.

"You will never go through that only do you understand? If Henry shall ever die you will never be alone. All of us girls will be always be together for you." She whispered and I nodded as I held onto her arms and held back the tears.

"Jeg ved." (I know.)
