Payton's POV

The crowd was screaming and everything was going by so quickly. It was the third set and we had one the first two . Score legend 22: legacy:23. It was a timeout and our coach was talking to us about how we needed to close the gap and pull ahead because we wanted to flush this team 3-0. I was handed a Gatorade squirt water bottle by our manager and squirted some water in my mouth. I was so pumped to play. I got a good amount of kills and my coach wanted my kills to finish the game. I nodded to my setter and my coach in agreement that we were going to finish this. We chanted in the huddle "WOLVES" and then hopped back onto the court. As I waited for the whistle to be blown for legacy to come back on the court, I looked at the crowd. I looked at Jacob but he was busy talking to Zach about some buttt. He used his hands and made a large butt and was very excited about it. I laughed and looked at the attractive guy I saw earlier. He was wearing a legend t shirt!! Yes he goes to legend! I smiled at him and he smiled back. He mouthed to me "you're amazing" and I blushed and mouthed thank you! The ref blew the whistle and that meant for us to get back on the court. He blew the service whistle and one of their toughest servers jump served the ball. Courtney our libero, got an amazing pass and Nicole set me the perfect slide, and I slammed it hard across the court and none of the legacy girls were there to dig the ball. The crowd went crazy!! I smiled and highfived my team mates and told them to keep pushing. We won the serve so it was my serve. Legend :23 Legacy:23. I got on the line and did my best jump serve. I aced their libero and the crowd went wild again!! My team jumped on the court and cheered. Legend:24 legacy:23. Game point. I served the ball and they got a decent pass. They set their right side and she swung as hard as she could. Courtney dug the ball perfectly and it became an intense rally. Finally, Courtney dug another perfect ball, I called for a back row set, and Nicole set me, and I swung as hard as I could. The ball hit their libero square in the chest and fell to the ground. The crowd went WILD. I jumped along with my team and the teammates on the bench ran onto the court. We got a spot in the semifinals !!! We said good game to the legacy girls and them faced our home crowd. They screamed and chanted and were pointing at all of us. Jacob was looking at me and I was beaming from ear to ear. He smiled back and was waving a shirt with my name on it. I looked at the guy from earlier and he smiled at me again. I saw he had something on his face. Our team got our stuff in the locker rooms and came out in our spandex and hoodies. We took off all our volleyball gear and were packed up and ready to go. I stood in the gym talking to people. I was talking to Meghan, Lexi, and Cassie, when Jacob came from behind and hugged me. " the beast is alive!" he shouted. I smiled and laughed. I turned around and gave him the biggest hug. He smelled so good and I was wearing his sweatshirt and so it smelt equally good. "Payton you killed out there tonight I mean it! " he beamed as his arms held my waist. " thank you so much. I tried my best" I blushed. " yea great job!" Meghan said kinda irritated that Jacob was all over me. I gave jacob a look and he stopped hugging me and went to Meghans side. My mom came around the side and hugged me. "Mommy" I said! " baby girl you did so good! I am so proud of you honey! You're gonna get yourself to college! " she beamed. I nodded in agreement, "okay well I'm going home, I don't know if you have dinner plans with your friends, but just be home before 12 okay?" " sounds good mama" I said. "Love you!!" I yelled as she walked out of the gym. I turned around to see the hot guy that has been smiling at me all game. " you were amazing out there Payton" he gushed. " why thank you" I remarked. I saw he had my number written on his face. #12. " I see your a fan" I teased. He blushed " ya after the second set I was hooked. I dug through my moms purse, found her eyeliner and had her write your number on my face" he admitted." I'm flattered" I blushed and laughed. " ya Payton no kidding my sister was right! You are so talented and are bound to play college ball. " he said. " wait who's your sister?" I asked. " Nicole French?" Holy crap he's Nicole's brother? He's fine!! No wonder Nicole is gorgeous! His mom is beautiful tooo! " hi nice to meet you finally I'm Denise! Nicole and Matt's mom!" She gushed. "Oh hi! Your family is gorgeous!" I admitted. I was making small talk with Matt and Denise when I was tapped on the shoulder, I turned around and saw Jacob. "Hey , a bunch of us are going to noodles and co for dinner if you wanted to join us." He invited. " Okay ya I'll be there!" I said."okay I'm waiting for you in the car" he said. "Alright" I turned back to Matt and his mom and spoke " That's my cue! It was so amazing getting to meet you guys and I'll see you soon!" Denise smiled and waved and they began to walk away. Matt turned around and yelled " is it alright if I ask Nicole for your number?" I laughed and said " of course!" "Okay I'll talk to you soon" Matt said. I smiled and walked out to the parking lot, where jacob sat in his car. "You ready?" He asked. "Let's eat!" I said as he pulled out of the parking lot and onto the road.
