Sad Hours

It was a late night for Tony Stark. He's been working in his lab all day, trying to figure out this dreaded math problem. Yeah, he's a genius but he tends to struggle with simple things when he's tired.
Normally, Peter, his personal intern, would never with him to force him to go to sleep but he wasn't. It was around 12 o'clock when Tony noticed that Peter wasn't there. He only noticed it was so late because FRIDAY alerted him.
Tony started to grow concerned for Peter. He was normally at the tower withing an hour after school ending. But Tony was there alone. He slightly tilted his head up and spoke to his AI.

"Hey Fri, where's Peter at? "

I don't know boss, would you like me to call him?

"Yes, thank you FRIDAY.. " Tony muttered. After about a minute of Peter not answering the call tony started to worry. Peter always picks up. Even if he's in the middle of a fight or at school, he always picks up.

"FRIDAY, call a suit. " He said. He stood from the table as a suit flew from his lab on a higher floor, onto his body. One of the windows opened and Tony flew out into the night.

After an hour and a half Tony spoted Peter sitting on the edge of a building next to a much older man. He didn't have his mask on and had a sad smile on his face.

"FRIDAY, who's the old man? " Tony asked. But FRIDAY didn't reply. Tony was confused but he ignored it and flew onto the building.
Peter and the old man turned around. Tony got a good look at the man. He was balding but his remaining hair and mustache were a mix between gray and white. He wore a pair of tinted dark red glasses with gold rims. He had on a light green dress shirt with a white, collared shirt underneath, along with some tan pants.
The man turned and smiled sadly at Peter.

"Looks like it's my time to go. " He chuckled sadly. Peter had tears in his eyes.

"But you didn't finish your story... " Peter said.

"Alright kid, after Mary gave birth she named her son Peter. He grew up to be a great hero, just like his parents. " The man said.

"Thank you Mr. Lee. " Peter said.

"They'd be so proud of you. I know I am. " The man said. "And ive told you a hundred times. Call me Stan. ".

" Alright, Mr. Lee. When you get there, can you tell Mrs. Lee I said hello. " Peter said. The two stood up and hugged.

"I will Peter, I will. " Stan said, he took of his glasses to reveal his glazed over eyes. "Here kid, take these. I won't need there where in going. ".

Stan handed Peter the sunglasses.

" You take care of yourself and your aunt to. I don't want to see either of you up there anytime soon. " Stan patted Peter shoulder.

"Be good kid. "

"I will, Mr. Lee. "

Stan looked up at the night sky that was full of stars.

"She's waiting for me. " Stan sighed. He closes his eyes and the most magical thing started to happen. From the bottom up he started turning into beautiful, orange flower petals and blowing away in the wind. He but his hand on Peter shoulder as his body blew away.

"May raised you right kid. "

"Thank you... For everything.. " Peter said, a single tear ran down his face.

"Anytime kid. " And with that, Stan disappeared. The flower petals blew into the sky.

"Goodbye, dear creator.. " Peter whispered.
