Optimus stood in front of the brash autobot named, Warpath. He nod and briefly glanced to his side as he already saw his soldier looking curiously to the silent femme beside him.

"Warpath," that turned his attention back to the prime and straightened his posture, "starting today, I will assign Shadelift to be personally trained under your command."

"What? Why?"

Shadelift watched the two tall cybertronians talk before she looked around, and to her servos as she clenched and unclenched it. "I can be on my own." She inputted lightly, her mellow voice halting the two as she gave them a smile.

"I can survive this war without heavily depending on someone." She paused, and innocently tilted her helm back. "After all, they always just come and go, and leave me all alone. In a way," she looked at warpath and maintained her smile. "I think I've grown used to it but I don't want that scenario to repeat again, therefore, I'm grateful for your help but I have no need for it."

Shadelift turned around, her light steps not even making sounds despite being purely made out of metal and her small frame to gradually grow smaller as she continues.

Warpath turned to prime with a huff, "told ya, prime. Femme's ah smart one! Ya don't need to worry on her anymore!" He reassured, seeing the subtle troubled look on his leader's optics.

"No, warpath. She lost her parental units in such a cruel way, and she had a sibling that betrayed her and had almost been the death to her. I can not helped but to worry over such a small..." with his tone softening and optics dimming, he lowly murmured, "Youngling."

The warrior stared at the prime for a few minutes before letting a loud sigh, "fine, ya got me! Ya got me! I'll take care o' her for you." He grumbled, irritatingly shaking his helm and crossing his arms over to his chassis, "Are you happy now?"

"Very much so, you have my gratitude, warpath."

———

Warpath took his units out, and started to wildly fire his armada of weapons to the decepticons, encouraging the newbies and the others to do the same as well, and did the same as him.

One sly decepticon, swindle, crept behind at the unaware warpath that happily blasts away enemies to pits, he looked down to his newly equipped gun in a trial test. A weapon called V32.CYBR Corrupt@r, a lethal weapon that could momentarily turned an enemy into an ally!

"So convenient." He whispered, smirking and taking aim and then fired at will.

The bullet came fast towards the latter, but before it penetrates to his armour. Shadelift appeared and cleanly slice the bullet and coldly stared back at swindle's widen optics.

"... uh- oh." He said, and then without a second thought, he transformed to his vehicle mode and drove cowardly back to where he came from.

"Warpath, perimeter is cleared. No decepticons are in sight."

Warpath took a moment for the words to register before he stopped and look at Shadelift with a smile on his faceplate which is hidden by his mouth guard.

"Is that so? What're ya waitin' for? Let's look for more decepticons to blast with!"

Shadelift looked at warpath with an exasperated look, "you were about to be turned against us when you're enjoying too much earlier."

Warpath stopped his laugh, and looked at her. "Really?" A curt nod that answered his question was enough to confuse him. "How?"

"Decepticon swindle was about to use the V32.CYBR Corrupt@r on you. He also must've an cloaking ability or something akin to that." Shadelift explained monotonously, seeing warpath fuming in anger.

"That rust of a bucket! Just wait the next time my servos get on him...!"

Shadelift chuckled lightly and smiled, "indeed, though it might be better to now lead back the troops back since we're done securing the area."

Warpath huffed loudly, "fine, ya win."

"Yes, I am, I did save you back there despite being seen as a "yonugling" by Optimus prime."

"Ya know, prime meant nothing offensive 'bout that, right? He's just..." warpath found the difficult and seldom word he rarely ever uses in the times he lived, "compassionate to his friends."

Shadelift hummed from beside him, looking to her side and seeing the few soldiers getting up and helping each other.

"I wonder."
