My dream diary was filled with fake dreams I had about a dark four legged figure that looked like a large dog - I worte this because I knew Professor Trelawney would emmiddietly say that it was the Grimm, it seemed to be one of her favorite Omens. My Bowtruckle drawing was perfected and all my essays were finished. Finishing all my homework was th positive thing to look at, I tried to stop myself from thinking about the negative side - which was having no sleep at all.
My the time I was done, Breakfast had ended and my first class was about to begin. I showed no sigh of sleepiness because I morphed my eyes to get rid of the dark purple bruises under them and my pale face had a bit more color in it.
When I went into the common room I wasn't surprised to see Harry or Ron finishing their homework atthe table, both looking bleary eyed and pale faced.
"What did Umbridge say?" I asked emmidiatly, hands on my hips and forcing myself not to blink tiredly; that might ruin my intimidating stance just a bit. "About letting you off on Friday?"
"She said no," Harry said, rubbing his eyes. "I'm sorry, Nixie, but you'll have to do it without me. You still have Angeline, Fred, George, and Katie there."
I scowled but wasn't angry at Harry, it wasn't his fault he was an impulsive prat with some serious anger issues.
"I hope Alicia Spinnet tries out for Keeper," I said, changing the subject swiftly.
Ron looked up wearily. "Why?"
"Because she is one of the best fliers I've ever seen!" I said. "I've seen her on a broom before and she would be just splendid. With her on the team, we'll be unstoppable."
Ron looked down at his essay, looking sort of glum. I went on.
"There is me. The brilliant, the beautiful, the lovely, the amazingly talented-"
"Don't forget modest, never forget modest," Harry said sarcastically.
I laughed. "Okay, fine, I'll be fair. I've never lost a game except that one in third year against Hufflepuff, so I am easily the best seeker Hogwarts has ever wittnessed. Then there is you, Katie and Angelina, you three seem to read eachothers minds when you're on the field! It's almost impossible to keep up to your movement. Then theirs Fred and George, we already know about the human bludgers, right? Then with Alicia we might even be able to take on Puddlemore United."
Harry rolled his eyes at me. "Imagine Oliver's face if we end up playing against him?"
"He'll be scared,who wouldn't be?" I bragged.
"I'm sorry to interupt, but we need to get to Trelawney's class," Ron said, cutting across from Harry, who was about to make a comment.
"Er, right," Harry and I said at the same time.
The three ofus got up and clambored out of the protrait hole, equally tired.
"Did you get any sleep?" Harry yawned at me.
"No," I said, rubbing my eyes. "Do you know how hard it is to make up a whole months worth of dreams? Well, let me tell you this, it is very difficult."
"All you have to write down is that you got some socks that nibbled your toes when youtried to put them on, no big deal," Ron shrugged. "It was that bloody Bowtruckle drawing that got me stuck."
"I want to get an O in Trelawney's class, Ron," I rolled my eyes. "So I chose some scary dreams. The Grim, drowning, falling, dark alleys; you know, that kind of thing."
"A whole months of nightmares?" Harry quirked his eyebrow at me. "Don't you think it's a bit obvious that you made all that up?"
I shook my head. "She predicted that Unicorn was going to get seriously injured in third year, remember? I think she is way beyond natural logic now."
