“We need to understand what powers Calissa has and teach her control,” Grizelda explained. “If she can grant wishes, like Stella said, a wish made in anger or fear could have serious consequences.” Everyone nodded in agreement.
“Daphne, you will guide her since you have wish-granting abilities,” Faragonda suggested.
Daphne suddenly looked thoughtful. “Can she actually see the future?” she asked, drawing everyone’s attention.
Faragonda tilted her head. “Why do you ask, dear?”
Daphne glanced at Thoren, who nodded encouragingly. She smiled, turning back to the group. “Mother, Father, I have something to share,” Daphne began, her voice filled with emotion. Bloom smiled knowingly as Daphne took a deep breath. “I’m pregnant.”
The room erupted in joyful cheers.
“Daphne?” Miriam exclaimed, beaming as she looked at a smiling Oritel.
“You’re expecting?” Oritel asked, his voice filled with pride as he stood and hugged Daphne. Miriam followed quickly, embracing her tightly.
“Oh, Daphne. You’re not my little girl anymore,” Oritel whispered, his voice trembling.
“Dad, I’ll always be your little girl,” Daphne reassured him, smiling as Oritel moved to Thoren and hugged him warmly.
“You’re going to be a mom!” Miriam said, hugging Daphne tightly.
“Why did you ask about Calissa seeing the future?” Faragonda questioned, her curiosity piqued.
Daphne smiled. “Calissa told me this afternoon—it’s a little girl.”
Faragonda’s eyes widened. “May I check if she’s right?”
Daphne nodded, looking at Thoren, who smiled back.
Faragonda placed her hands gently over Daphne’s abdomen, closing her eyes. A few moments later, she smiled brightly. “Daphne, Thoren—Calissa is correct. It’s a little girl.”
“What did you see, Mrs. Faragonda?” Bloom asked excitedly.
“I saw Calissa playing with her,” Faragonda said softly, glancing at Daphne and Vanessa, who shared a smile.
“How does she look?” Bloom pressed eagerly.
Faragonda chuckled. “That’s for you to see when she’s two years old.”
Calissa stirred and spoke, her voice soft but clear. “She has Daphne’s hair and Thoren’s blue eyes.”
Everyone froze in awe.
“Calissa, say that again,” Daphne gently urged, walking over.
“She has your blonde hair and Thoren’s blue eyes,” Calissa repeated, leaving the room silent in wonder.
Stella suddenly blurted out, “Can you see my daughter too?”
Everyone turned to her in surprise.
“What? I know I’ll have a girl with Brandon,” Stella declared confidently.
Calissa shook her head. “I only saw Daphne’s daughter because she entered my dream. She was about my age and standing next to Daphne.”
Faragonda crouched beside Calissa. “Darling, is there something you really want?”
Calissa thought for a moment. “Not now.”
Amber, sitting nearby, perked up. “A white teddy bear with pink bunny ears!” she exclaimed, making everyone laugh.
