Daphne's moments
Daphne’s pregnancy brought an air of excitement to the group, but it also became a source of endless curiosity. Nearly every day, Daphne would playfully try to coax Calissa into revealing the gender of her baby.
“Come on, Calissa,” Daphne would tease, a mischievous smile lighting up her face. “Just a hint. Thoren doesn’t have to know.”
Calissa, ever amused, would laugh and shake her head. “Daphne, you know I can’t do that. It’s a surprise!”
But Daphne was nothing if not persistent. One evening, during a casual gathering at Alfea, she tried again. The group had just finished dinner and was relaxing in the common room when Daphne turned to Calissa with a playful gleam in her eye.
“Okay, how about this?” she said, leaning closer. “If I guess right, will you at least confirm it?”
Calissa smirked, crossing her arms. “Good luck with that.”
Daphne tapped her chin in mock thought. “Hmm... I think it’s a boy.”
“Wrong,” Calissa said quickly, then clapped a hand over her mouth.
The room went silent as everyone turned to her, their eyes wide with anticipation.
“Wait,” Bloom said, leaning forward. “If it’s not a boy, then it’s—”
“Arina’s little sister,” Calissa blurted out, unable to stop herself.
The reaction was instant.
“You’re having a girl?!” Bloom squealed, jumping up to hug her sister.
Thoren, who had been sitting quietly, blinked in surprise before breaking into a wide smile. “Another little princess?” He chuckled, pulling Daphne close. “That’s incredible.”
Daphne, her eyes glistening with happy tears, hugged him tightly. “I knew it,” she whispered, her voice filled with emotion.
The room erupted into celebration, with everyone offering their congratulations. Little Arina, sitting in Thoren’s lap, clapped her hands excitedly, even though she didn’t fully understand what was happening.
“I’m going to have a baby sister?” she asked, looking up at her mother.
“Yes, sweetie,” Daphne said, brushing a strand of hair from Arina’s face. “You’re going to be the best big sister ever.”
Arina beamed, her innocent excitement melting everyone’s hearts.
“Calissa,” Daphne said, turning to her sister with a grateful smile. “You couldn’t keep that secret forever, huh?”
Calissa laughed, a little sheepishly. “Well, I tried. But honestly, I’m glad you know now. You’re going to have another amazing little one.”
Bloom joined them, pulling both Daphne and Calissa into a group hug. “I can’t wait to meet her,” she said, her voice soft with affection.
Later that evening, as the celebration wound down, Daphne found Calissa sitting by the window, gazing out at the night sky. She approached quietly, taking a seat beside her.
“Thank you,” Daphne said, her tone serious now.
“For what?” Calissa asked, glancing at her.
“For being here,” Daphne said. “For always supporting us, for helping me feel at ease. Knowing you’ve seen the future and that everything will be okay... it means more than you realize.”
Calissa smiled, her heart warming at Daphne’s words. “You don’t need me to tell you everything will be okay, Daphne. You’re strong, and you’ve got an incredible family. Your little girl is going to have the best parents she could ask for.”
