LAURI

There was this girl in my class called y/n and she was the most beautiful girl in the whole school. Every guy had a crush on her but she brushed them off, not in a bitchy way but more so because she didn't like attention. I had all my classes with her minus music, and I would write lyrics and poems on pieces of paper and put them in her locker when she wasn't looking. It was kind of corny but I didn't have the courage to talk to her face to face.

Recently y/n hadn't been her usual happy self, she no longer smiled at everyone and got mad over little things people did to annoy her. No one had asked her what was wrong, and I wanted to be the person who changed that. So today's lyrics came to me very quickly as I jotted them down on a slip of paper.

She's fading away

Away from this world

Drifting like a feather

She's not like the other girls

She lives in the clouds

She talks to the birds

Hopeless little one

She's not like the other girls I know

While the corridor was empty I slip the note inside her locker, before turning and walking in the opposite direction.

~Next Day~

It was my free period and since the weather was sunny I decided to sit outside on the field under a tree strumming my guitar, one day I would be in a band that toured the world, but first I needed to finish high school. Other kids played around me but kept their distance knowing I liked my privacy and personal space. I did have friends, they were in other classes.

"Err you're Lauri right?" a familiar girls voice speaks up next to me, and I notice a shadow looming over me. Both belonged to y/n.

"That's right, and you're y/n," I reply.

She smiles and sits down next to me on the grass holding her notebook close to her chest. Was this a dream or something?

"I always catch you sneaking small notes in my locker. Your poems and messages are so sweet. The one you put in yesterday really touched me, I had to say thank you for caring about me even though we've never spoken before."

It would have been embarrassing if she'd come over and made fun of me, but she seemed genuine and it made my heart flutter, "how long have you known y/n?"

She chuckles, "a couple of months, and I was afraid to say anything because I didn't want the notes to stop. If I'm having a shit day or some jerk is hitting on me, your notes make me feel better Lauri."

I open my mouth to say something but no words come out, this was so surreal. The girl I was crushing on liked my notes, there was no way this day could get any better.

"I have to go and meet some friends to study for a test, but I would like to get to know you better Lauri. Would you like to get coffee after school?"

y/n had just asked me out, this day had just gotten better.

I nod, "I would like that y/n."

She smiles and stands back up, but not before pecking my cheek making me blush, "one day I better get those ten black roses."

I nod again, too stunned to speak, I would get her a hundred black roses if she asked. y/n giggles and skips back off down the field and all I can do is watch her go while trying to never forget that kiss.
