End of A/N

Soulmate

Y/N

"I still see him you know. Like, in the corner of my eye and such, little flashes. I'll see him as I turn, but then he's gone again."

"He was your soulmate y/n so it's understandable you think you're still seeing him, but he's gone."

You wanted nothing more than to throttle your best friend; you weren't going crazy and seeing things. Corey was real, no matter what anyone else told you. It had been three months, three long months and you still refused to move on.

Corey wasn't suicidal; everything about your relationship was perfect. There was no way in hell he'd jump off a bridge and kill himself. Plus they never found his body, so he couldn't be dead since everyone buried an empty coffin. But if he wasn't dead then why was he putting me through this pain?

The week leading up to the 'suicide' he'd been a little off, but he assured you all his stress was nothing to do with you but life in general. You put it down to his music and his band, which Corey loved to death. The other mystery was that after the 'suicide' the rest of his band members also seemed to vanish into thin air.

COREY

Walking away from y/n was one of the hardest decisions I'd ever had to make in all my years on earth. y/n was perfect head to toe, we were soulmates. Everyone joked we'd be together forever, but there was just one small hitch in the happily ever after plan. I wasn't human. I probably should have told y/n everything after the first date went well, but things kept getting in the way.

Here comes the cliché, me and the rest of my band are vampires. Why do you think we wear masks on stage? It hides the fact that we never seem to age, that would surely scare the shit out of people if they knew just how old we really were. But being a vampire came with consequences and some very persistent enemies.

For years we'd managed to avoid hunters, but they had to swoop in and make things complicated between y/n and I. They killed one of our own Paul and it was then Shawn convinced me to keep y/n safe by faking my own death to put the hunters off the scent. So I jumped off the bridge and left y/n broken hearted.

But y/n refused to move on, no matter how hard her friends tried to set her up on blind dates. y/n wasn't seeing things, I was still around town looking out for her even if that meant occasionally making my presence known to keep my memory alive inside her. Some in the band called me selfish for leading y/n on, but I didn't want to leave her alone in this cruel world.

"Once the hunters leave Corey you can reveal yourself and tell her everything, but for now we must continue watching from the shadows and planning our attack on the hunters."

Shawn pats me on the back and walks off. I continue watching y/n from across the street keeping myself hidden behind a tree in the forest that surrounded the town, she was sipping her coffee and trying her hardest not to hit her friend who kept babbling on about the fact y/n needed to move on.

Once the hunters were taken care of I'd swoop back in and show her what I really was, y/n had always been quirky and open to the idea of there being a supernatural world so that means I should be accepted. However y/n was also stubborn and easily pissed off, and faking my death wouldn't exactly put me in the good books. Maybe I needed to work out my 'oh look I'm not dead' speech before even thinking about coming out of the shadows.
