The office doesnt seem as warm. It has a harsh feeling to it know, I sit anyway though.

"Have you ever self harmed? If so how often do you?"

I force the breath that I was apparently holding out,
"I uh have. It got to a point where uh I would cut multiple times a day in the uh school bathroom."

He nods while he jots something down, the room is spinning.
"Have you ever had thoughts of suicide? Have you acted upon them before?"

Why am I doing this?? He already knows, don't lie it's okay.

"Yes I have. A few times actually."

"A few times? Please clarify."

"Uh okay um, I have thoughts of suicide nearly every day. I uh have attempted about five different times in the last two years."

Again he nods, before he stands and exists the room. My anxiety spikes because I don't know what to do. Soon he returns, Aiden and their mom aren't too far behind.

"Josh has expressed to me that he is a danger to himself, with that being said it warrants telling his legal guardian, which presumes to be you in this situation. I think it would be best if Josh joined an impatient program for at least 24 hours, however they may want to hold him for a week or two." He hands a rather large stack of paper to Aiden's mom before he continues, "This packet tells you everything you need to fill out, what he can and can not bring, and visiting hours. Even though this decision is completely up to you and Joshua, I believe he would benefit greatly from this form of help. The program starts next Monday, please let me know your decision by Wednesday so I can make sure he has a spot."

I slowly stand, I feel like I left my soul on the couch. I don't want to be impatient, I don't need to get better. I am not broken. I am fine!
