Astrid's POV:

I wake up to find Stormfly in my face waiting for a ride.
"Ahhhh!" I fell off the bed after looking at the giant creature as I open my eyes. I gave her a gentle hit on the nose for scaring me.
I put on my armor remembering that today's the day of the Dragon Games. I heard a dragon call from Cloudjumper as I went outside walked into the main square. There was Hiccup and the gang all waiting for Valka to tell us what the challenge is.
"So mum what is it?" Hiccup questioned with the group following.
"Yeah what is it?"
"Tell us!"
"Today is the day of the dragon races. You are all competing for speed. You will fly around the island twice and the first one back, wins!" Valka answers their questions but they all had disappointed looks on their faces.
"Oh come on, Hiccups gonna win!" Tuffnut protested.
"Yeah he has a night fury!" Snotlout added.
Hookfang clearly found this offensive so while Snotlout was sitting on him he put his body on fire along with setting snotlouts pants burn.
"Ahhhhhhh! That's the third time this week!" Snotlout shouted while running into a dragon water troff and making himself comfortably cool off in there.
"Ok but seriously how in Thors name are we supposed to compete with a night fury?" Ruffnut argued.
"And just think of me and Meatlug, she gets emotional when she comes last." Fishlegs said hugging his gronckle.
"Well that's why I have put you all in order of who will start flying first to last." Valka said putting her hands on her hips.
"Wait what?" Tuffnut questioned confused.
"I mean I will give the slow dragons a head start. This chart shows who will go first and how long the next person has to wait before they begin. That way it will be a fair race and by the last lap it should be even." Valka explained pointing to a chart Cloudjumper was holding. "So Fishlegs will start with Eret next, then the twins and Snotlout followed by Astrid and Hiccup."
"Ohhhh......I still don't get it?" Ruffnut said as usual never understanding anything.
"Ahhh, your such a moron!" Tuffnut said to his sister.
"A beautiful moron." Said Snotlout and Fishlegs together.
"Ewww, not this AGAIN!" Tuffnut said slowly walking over to me.
"Ok so the games will commence after lunch be ready with your racing paint and dragons." Valka reminded us.
"Ok let's go bud" Hiccup said flying back to his house.
All the others left as well while Snotlout enjoyed sitting in the troff of water yelling at Hookfang, threatening him if he does that during the games.
I went back home where Stormfly was waiting for her breakfast. I gave her a bucket of chicken knowing that she has more energy and can fly faster when she eats it.
"They won't even know how you got your speed girl." I giggled to myself thinking of how I know how to make her fly faster.

I start walking to the forge to see Gobber when I see Astrid feeding Stormfly a bucket of chicken.
