The Nerd and the Bad Boy

Chapter 1

"ALEX GET THE HELL UP!" my dad yelled banging on the door.

I groaned and sat up, it's only 5:30 and school starts at 7:20.

Oh silly me. You know nothing about me.

Hi there! My name is Alexandria Rose Peters, but my nickname is Alex because I don't really like my name. I'm 15 years old and I love going to school and learning. Well learning I hate going to school. I can sing but I only do it when I'm doing homework and cleaning my room. No one ever heard me besides my mom and she said I have a beautiful voice.

Speaking of my mom she died last month in a car accident and she was my only hope to happiness. She knew about me getting bullied and she was like my best friend. My dad is angry all the time now and he doesn't care. He goes out to clubs all night and drinks with his friends, during the day he is at work.

I'm the one who always has to make dinner, clean and do everything while he is out. I still mange to get straight A's in school and I'm always on time. I never get in trouble once.

I wear glasses, sweaters sometimes, leggings and jeans. Everyone makes fun of me because I'm the 'nerd', yup I have that title. I'm getting my braces off tomorrow and I'm happy because I also have the nickname of brace face. Yup. People are rude in my grade, and I'm only a sophomore.

I've got partnered up with the worst guy in our grade. Jason Carter. He is the 'bad boy' of our grade and probably in the entire school. But he always just tells me to do all the work and he gets credit for it, which only thankfully happened twice.

Oh one last thing. My best friend, well ex best friend. Her name is Sophia Andrews. She was my best friend since birth and we told each other everything. But when we became freshman her mom let her wear what we wanted and let her wear makeup. So she did and she ditched me for the popular girls. She used to wear glasses and have braces but she got them off in 7th grade and uses contacts now. I'm all by myself now because she was my only friend.

So let's get back to reality.

I showered and when I get out I put my glasses on and blow dried my hair.

I threw on one of my grey sweaters and jeans. I walked downstairs and my dad was gone. He wakes me up before he goes to work so I only see him in the morning.

I poured myself some cereal and ate it quickly since it was 6:10 and I cleaned the dishes and ran upstairs. I brushed my teeth and flossed the food out of my braces and put my bands in.

I slipped my old dirty converse that I had for 4 years on and it was 6:30. I grabbed my bag and phone and walked out the door.

You are probably asking why I'm already leaving. Well I live 3 miles away from the school and I have to walk there and back.

Anyways I start walking and I get to school 10 minutes before it starts. I walk through the doors and the teachers greet me.

I go to my first class which is history and sit in the front of the class reading.

"Hello Alex how are you?" Mrs. Turner asked.

"I'm ok how are you?" I questioned.

"I'm good thanks" she smiled.

A few minutes after I start reading everyone loads in the class and it starts.

*after school*

After the long dreadful day of school I finally get to walk home.

When I get there the house is just how I left it. I finish cleaning up the house and I do my dad's laundry and my laundry.

Once I finish I do all my homework and start working on my project. I make dinner for myself and changed into grey sweats and a cropped tank top.

I put acne cream on my face and I brush my teeth and floss. I took my bands off and put them on the sink.

I'm having these things off tomorrow and I can't wait. I smiled and looked at my braces one more time before I washed my face and went to bed.

I started reading until it was 9 and I finally went to bed
