Children shouldn't date adults!

It doesn't matter if it's sexual or not! It's just gross and abusive and manipulative!

And yes, when I say children, I mean teenagers. Especially teenagers.

Biologically, teenagers aren't equipped with the ability to make long term choices. Our prefrontal cortex is not fully developed, so we are more likely to make decisions that give instant reward.

16 y/o: oh! This 22 year old wants to date me! This should be fine because he can buy me things and he has a job!

What they don't think about is why a 22 would want to date underage person in the first place.

And kids are impressionable. If a 22 year old tells a 15 year old to do something (while they're in a relation ship) then the kid is going to do it. Out of obligation or out of fear that the adult will leave them if they i wouldn't know.

It's completely fine to have crushes on older people or authority figures like teachers, as long as they're not acted on? I'd think of it more as a celebrity crush.

But meh, what do I know? I'm just rambling.
