*Y/n's POV*

The sheets softly draped over my legs on the comfortable bed where I layed, my eyes scanning each line of the book I was reading.

My phone dinged, getting my attention like someone snapping their fingers. It was my boyfriend Shawn who was away on tour.

Shawn: Hey

Y/n: Hey baby 💖

Y/n: Isn't it like 3 a.m where you are?

Shawn: Yeah

Y/n: What's wrong?

Shawn: Nothing, I'm fine

Y/n: Shawn, you know I can tell when something's up. I just want to help.

Shawn: Okay, you're right

Shawn: I'm just missing you really badly right now.

Y/n: Aww baby, I am too. Do you want to talk?

Shawn: Yeah, can we face time?

Y/n: Of course 😊

Seconds later, he called me from his laptop and I quickly accepted it.

Shawn's face appeared on the screen and he looked at me with a sweet smile below his tired eyes. "It's so good seeing you're beautiful face," he grinned, me blushing, "How do you look so good in the middle of the night?"

"I was thinking the same thing about you," I told him.

Shawn smiled, obviously loving talking to me, but it soon disappeared Ashe closed his eyes sadly.

"God, I miss you so much," he cried out, putting his head in his hands, "I want to come home. I want to be home. Be able to hold your hand and hug you when you're feeling down. I miss being able to say 'I love you' whenever I can without having to worry about timezones. I want to - no I need to - be beside you, but instead I'm on the other side of the world, barely able to talk to you everyday. I hate being on tour!"

He shouted the last part, his sleep deprived mind clearly getting frustrated.

"Shhh, Shawn, it's okay baby," I cooed and he looked up at me, "I know it's hard being away, I feel it too. All the time actually. But it's like you always tell me, you'll be home before you know it. There's no reason to get upset, I'll  always be right here waiting for you."

"But that's the thing," Shawn interrupted, "Every time I leave, I'm making you wait for me. I making you have to sleep alone at night while I'm away. I don't want to be the guy who's never there for you because you don't deserve that. And with how much I'm gone, I don't deserve such an amazing, loyal girl like you."

"Shawn, what are you talking about? You're not that guy who's never there," I assured him, "You've always been there for me even when it sacrificed something for you. Like talking to me tonight when you probably need the sleep. I would never and I am never going to leave you."

"That helps a lot to hear," Shawn looked slightly happier at that as he nodded to himself.

After a couple seconds of silence though, he still looked as if he was about to cry if he wasn't already, "I'm still missing you like crazy. So bad it hurts. Nothing's going to change that."

I frowned at his sadness, wishing I could hug him, which was probably a mirror image of what he felt.

Continuing to watch him, I noticed when he grabbed his right hand with his left in front of him, squeezing it tight with is eyes closed. "Shawn, babe, what are you doing?" I asked.

"Pretending to hold your hand," he stated, "I know it's kind of embarrassing and probably seems stupid, but it really helps calm me down."

Grinning at his cuteness, I spoke up, "Its not stupid at all. I'm know I've done it before. Also, since you're missing me, I have something that will probably make you feel better."

Looking curious, Shawn glanced up, "What?"

"Well, I put the sweatshirt of yours that I always wear in your bag. So if you want it, it probably smells like me," I smiled.

"You're right, I completely forgot about that," Shawn's eyes went wide before he disappeared from view for a second, coming back in the sweatshirt, "Totally does smell like you. I love it, thanks baby girl." He put the hood on, enjoying the soft material.

"You should probably get to bed now Shawny," I told him, "Don't you have a show tomorrow?"

"Yeah," he nodded, "I'm just trying to savor every moment I get to see your face and hear your voice. I am pretty tired though."

"Me too," I puty finger on the screen, him doing the same in the same spot as if we were touching from miles apart, "I love you, always remember that."

"I love you too and I can't wait to get home," he smiled.

"It'll be time before we know it," I soothed, "Goodnight, baby."

"Goodnight, darling."
