"Branch?" Poppy asked, when he was alone.
"Go away, Poppy," he said, trying hard not to sigh.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"What do you care? Shouldn't you be with your boyfriend, anyway?"
"Branch, what are you talking about?"
"You know what I'm talking about, Poppy. I just..........I can't believe you."
"Wait a second, Branch..........do you mean Creek?"
Branch nodded.
"Branch, I don't even like Creek!"
Branch raised his eyes brows. "Yeah? Then why were you holding his hand??!!!"
"Because he needed my help! It was for comfort! And, he grabbed my hand! I didn't grab his!!" Poppy said, now getting angry.
"You didn't pull away."
"So? He was needing comfort at the moment, Branch!"
"Sure, Poppy. And, you know what?"
"What?" Poppy asked.
"We're done, he shoved her on the floor, holding back tears, and ran away.
His tears didn't stay in his eyeballs long.
And neither did Poppy's.
