THIS CHAPTER IS TRIGGERING

Hawkmoth laughed evilly as he looked at the akuma saved for Marinette in his staff. The power held inside was now 6/20 full. He almost had enough power to create his most powerful villain ever. But he had a feeling he was going to get close to full. Soon...

Marinette POV

"Please leave me alone!" I screeched trying to run from Chloé. She grabbed one of my pigtails and yanked me back. I fell, to the ground. We were behind the school and no one else was around.

"How dare you fall in his arms!" She yelled. "I-It was an accident!" I said trying to get out of her grasp. She pinned me to the wall, a tight grip on my wrist. Every time I moved she shoved me against the wall harder.

"Your such a klutz. You just had to be a burden and fall so he could catch you." She hissed.

"I'm not a burden." I stated tears streaming down my face.

"Well your definitely not wanted! Your just a waste of space. No one notices you besides that blog/vlog nerd and sometimes that weird DJ wanna be." Chloé said. I looked down at the ground and just gave up. I went limp in her grasp knowing it was true. Alya and Nino are amazing, but I've just been a third wheel for them ever since they started dating.

"Ugh. I had enough of looking at your hideous face. Get lost." Chloé said in discuss. She threw me to the ground then sashayed away. I stood up dusting myself off and picked everything that fell out my book bag back in it. I walked home and stayed in my room.

Author POV

Months passed, five to be precise. Marinette's birthday was four months ago. But Chloé ruined it. A day where she was suppose to be happy and celebrate was ruined by one sentence.

"Your existence isn't worth being celebrated."

So she didn't celebrate. She refused her parents offer on throwing a birthday party and went to her room and cried. Chat didn't show up that night either. She missed him. Akumas haven't showed up so she didn't turn into Ladybug. She paced around pulling at her hair feeling like she was going crazy. Tikki watched in concern as her holder was mumbling to herself.

"Marinette, you should get some rest. Tomorrow will be better." Tikki said. Marinette froze in her spot and nodded.

"Your right. I'm going to take a shower first." Marinette said walking into the bathroom and locking the door. She turned on the water, took off her clothes and stepped in. She let the warm water run down her back as she stared at the razor sitting on the shelf in the shower.

"Screw it." She mumbled and snatched the razor knocking off the soap. She held the razor against her forearm and let the blade slide across her arm. The crimson red blood fell from her arm to the shower floor. It hurt like hell but she kept on. "Happy Birthday to me." She mumbled to herself.

She watched as the blood ran down the drain, as another girl in her hotel suite questioned her decisions.

'She deserves to feel the same pain as me.' The blonde girl with icy blue eyes thought to herself with a satisfied smirk.

And then it went back to today, now, when Marinette walked into school wearing dark jeans that were ripped at the knees, black combat boots, her usual white floral shirt with a black hoodie with white draw strings hiding it. The sleeves were pulled down to where only her slim fingers were showing. Her hair was in her regular pigtails. She still carried around her purse for Tikki. Alya has been beyond concerned for her friend's sudden change. But she just tries to stay positive for her.

Marinette cuts almost every night. With her razor, envelope opener, pencil sharpener blade, sewing needle, scissors, knife, you name it. Tikki tries to hide them but Marinette finds them.

Marinette walked into her class and sat down beside her friend.

"Hey, girl. How are you this morning?" Alya asked hoping she was okay.

"I'm great, Alya. You?" Marinette said enthusiastically. But was lying. Alya sighed with relief and responded saying 'I'm good'.

"Girl, have you heard Adrien has had to model nights for the past—ever. Nino keeps talking about how he is never getting to see some friend or family member or something like that lately since the dumb gigs. Oh and what's up with no akuma attack for the past three weeks?! Ugh!" Alya babbled.

"Yeah. It's a bummer." Marinette said. Adrien then walked threw the door and Marinette immediately glued her eyes to her hands that were rested in her lap. She could feel Chloe's glare fixed on her. Anxiety filled her and for some reason her first instinct was to touch the scar under her bangs; the scar that reminded her of what Chloé could do to her.

"Marinette, are you okay?" A voice asked bringing her back to reality. It was Adrien. He was standing in front of her, his hand moving her's away from her face. That made Marinette flinch which made Adrien flinch away at her sudden movement. Marinette glanced at Chloé who was keeping a sharp eye on what the bluenette does.

"I'm fine." She mumbled in response to him, not making eye contact because she knew she would get lost in his eyes if she looked. She glanced back up at Chloé real quick, the blonde's eyes still fixed on her. Marinette knew she was going to get an extra punch for saying something to Adrien.

The end of the day came and Marinette was trapped by Chloé...again.

"I said stop talking to Adrien!" Chloé barked. Marinette didn't even talk back anymore; this was just a part of the daily routine. "Not gonna say anything? Wow. Pathetic. And what is this kindergarten? This is high school you fat baby, lose the pigtails." Chloé said then sashayed away. Marinette rolled her eyes, picked up her bag that was thrown to the side, and walked home.

"Hello, dear. How was school today?" Sabine asked right as Marinette walked through the door to their home.

"It was good, maman. I have a lot of homework, not going to make it to dinner. Love you." Marinette responded quickly walking up to her room. She locked the trapdoor and went straight to her drawer pulling out a blade.

"Marinette, please stop. Your stronger than her." Tikki pleaded as Marinette sliced through her skin.

"No. Ladybug is stronger than her. Right now I'm Marinette." She retorted.

"But harming yourself isn't the answer."

"I know. But I'm sorry, I'm too weak. And this is how I will cope." The lack of emotion in Marinette's voice sent a chill down Tikki's tiny spine.

And then there was the lonely boy in his room wanting to go check on Marinette but couldn't escape his duties of his civilian form to see his broken friend as his superhero form.

And all while Hawkmoth smirked at his staff. 13/20 full. But little did he know that this akuma wouldn't be any stronger than the others. There would just be one less hero to stop her so it'll take more time for the black cat to capture.
