Lynn's POV
Logan barged in like a flustered duck, hastily backing up against the door and pressed his ear warily onto the inner side of the intricate wooden piece, cautiously listening out for the sounds in his head he could not differentiate from the ordinary. Several moments ticked past and not hearing anymore peculiar noises as Charles finally stopped toying with his mind, Logan eventually registered something odd.
He spun around, dumbfounded to find himself in a normal study rather than the safe room he perceived when he swiftly edged through those concealed doors. The class of students stared blankly at the foreign intruder, strangely barefooted but cloaked in their institute's hooded jacket and sweatpants, not yet able to process their horror in the midst of their headmaster's entertaining scientific lecture.
"Good morning, Logan," Charles greeted with contrasting calmness and I giggled, watching his nonchalant reaction to the disruption he expected.
"So, I'd like your definitions of weak and strong anthropic principles on Wednesday. That'll be all," Charles announced indifferently towards the teens.
They compliantly nodded and quickly packed up their belongings, happily sauntering off towards the exit as they waved subtle goodbyes to me. As usual, Kitty was still the scatterbrain I remembered, almost forgetting her messenger bag as she trailed behind the others with only her box file.
I think you're missing something, Kitty, I sang in her head and noticing something amiss, she scurried back to her seat, slinging the long strap over her shoulder as she smiled at me sheepishly.
"Bye, Lynn. Bye, Professor," Kitty mumbled in embarrassment as I tediously propelled myself to his side.
"Bye, Kitty," Charles and I acknowledged in unison and she scampered off, phasing through the closed door.
An utterly aghast expression dominated Logan's face as he witnessed the abnormal disappearance of the young girl before him, making it seem impossible for anything to further shock him until he observed Charles and I kissing. I smiled widely, watching that sweet face break away, and Charles naturally intertwined his fingers with mine, practically grinning as he swept his eyes all over me.
I absorbed the enormous beauty in his eyes, trying my best not to get lost in them as I patiently awaited their return to mine. Ultimately, Charles reverted his gaze and I gave Logan a brief glance, hinting Charles of his presence with us.
We have a guest, I reminded and Charles chuckled slightly before clearing his throat.
"I'm Charles Xavier," Charles introduced, looking amicably towards Logan.
"Hi, Logan. Would you like some breakfast?" I offered courteously but Logan merely scrutinized his surroundings, unable to neglect the peculiarities of it.
"Where am I?" Logan interrogated in a baffled tone.
"Westchester, New York," Charles answered directly.
"You remember we were attacked?" I probed and Logan nodded, albeit still diligently scanning the room as if he could understand it better the longer he gaped at the sophisticatedly adorned walls.
"His people brought us here for medical attention," I elaborated kindly but Logan responded with a scoff.
"I don't need medical attention," Logan countered arrogantly, thinking us ignorant of his super healing capabilities.
"Yes, of course," Charles cordially played along while I attempted to contain my urge to roll my eyes.
"Where's the girl?" Logan prodded in a serious tone.
