You faced ahead with determination in your eyes, walking forward to slide the door of your room, but someone else opened it for you.

With a bit more force than usual.

"The hell do you think you're doing?" The man who opened it questioned you. He gave you a glare with his one good eye, but you didn't back down.

"I'll fight with you." You replied, grasping your naginata tightly.

The man, your very own lord Masamune, walked up to you and sized you up from head to toe. "Not with those injuries you've got." He muttered.

You wanted to protest, but he caught you off-guard when he lightly punched your side. You choked and gasped at the pain you felt, letting go of your weapon and putting your attention to your wound.

"Y-y-you..!" You glared at Masamune, but he just gave you a disapproving look and sighed.

Masamune lifted you up into his arms with minimal effort before setting you down on the futon still on the floor. "Let me handle it today, babe." He smirked at you.

You frowned as he got to work on your armor, taking it off and leaving you with a kimono for sleeping. Your beloved naginata was placed on its holder near the closet for your armor, where you could easily see it.

"You win this time." You pouted. "Let me fight with you in the next battle, okay?"

"No promises until you get better." Masamune gave you a peck on the lips before standing up to leave.

"See ya."

He left, sliding the door closed. You frowned at his silhouette walking away, reminding you of the fact that you couldn't be with him this time.

You sighed and buried yourself in the comforting sheets of the futon. As you drift away into a peaceful sleep, you smiled.

Why?

You knew he would always come back to you, even when you weren't on the battlefield to make sure it would happen.

It's an unspoken promise between you two, and you knew that it would never be broken as long as you kept believing in each other.

sorry it's so short. i was really busy with family stuff and i still have a few projects and exams to review for (because i was sick on the last day of exams, so i have to take them as soon as christmas break ends ugh)
