I reached my house exhausted both mentally and physically. I reached the conclusion that I will forget that I ever got that text and move on with my life.
Hopefully whoever was evil enough to scare me like that would forget it too. I entered my house to see no one was home, as always. I stomped up to my bed room, when I tried to open my door it was stuck, I frowned what was this about now. I pushed it with all my might and entered only to be hit by a strong stench of metallic-- My eyes widened when I took in my surroundings
There was blood everywhere, on my window, my bed, the walls. With a message written on one of the walls with blood, "Look how much I bleed just to make your day"
That did it. I screamed, a throat bleeding scream. My head my exploding, and body was shaking and I was screaming like an insane maniac and I felt I would explode any minute from the horror I was feeling.
Somebody grabbed me from behind, and I lost it. I kicked and punched and yelled at him to leave me alone with my eyes shut and tears dripping uncontrollably but he wouldn't let go.
He grabbed both my arms, pushed me against a wall and trapped my legs. I was dead, I was so dead. This was it. I still screamed my lungs out hoping someone will come to my rescue when I heard a loud familiar voice even louder than my ear bleeding screams
"It's me Elliot! Damn it! Stop!" The scream died inside of me as I looked at Elliot's horrified expression yet worried one as he looked at in my eyes, "It's just me. Calm down."
I slowly tried to calm my breathing, I was shivering to the point that when Elliot let me a little loose I lost my balance as my legs gave out and I stumbled to the ground.
Elliot immediately grabbed and slowly lowered me to the ground while I tried to stop sobbing.
"I'll get some water, will you be okay?" He said, I didn't quite understand him but I just nodded anyway.
He left my side while I wished that he wouldn't but I didn't quite understand what was happening. Water was brought to my lips and I drank it like a thirsty beast. I have no idea how long I stayed like that with Elliot hugging me but eventually I came to my senses.
"Thank you for being here" I said in my normal voice now.
He felt it and slowly left me to come in front of me, "What happened here?" He asked me while giving the bloody note on the wall a look
I shook my head, "I came home and...."
"Do you know who must have done this to you?" Elliot asked thinking practically while I tried to catch my breathing
"I..." Travis's sincere eyes came to my face, "No I don't"
"Hmm" He looked around the room, trying to figure out what is going on.
I slowly started thinking rationally, "I think we should call the police"
Elliot's face turned towards me so fast I feared for it's safety, "The..? Why the police? I mean, what will you tell them?" He was talking very fast
I frowned, what happened to him all of sudden? "What just happened? You don't think we should call them? I mean the text and now this, it is a serious matter" I explained
"What text?" He still looked bothered
"Just some creepy text I got from a blocked number yesterday, just like that note it riled me up." I motioned towards the wall.
"Someone must be playing a sick prank or something, there is no use in calling the police. It will just make the matters worse and complicated" He said sternly
I pulled back from him, feeling a little uncomfortable now. Why was involvement of police bothering him so much? Why was he so worried about the complications that came with the authorities? As if...?
I swallowed, "Elliot?"
"Yeah?" He snapped out of his staring at the wall
"You live right next door, I mean, didn't you notice anything different or noise in my house?" I inquired
"No I was kind of busy, and I guess I didn't notice anything." He answered
"What were you busy with?" I couldn't keep the suspicion out of my voice. But I couldn't understand what possible reason could he have for doing this to me.
"I was setting my house with loud music on, I didn't notice a thing"
I frowned, "If you had loud music on and you were so busy then how come you heard me and came over so quickly?" Now that I think about it, Elliot had been quite together and composed, not once did he stop and look surprised to see the condition of the room. I was getting goosebumps now, now that I think about it, rescuing me that night, being my next door neighbour, being interested in me and dating me?
He had my number, he could have text me. He lived right next door, he could have easily done this. What do I know about this man sitting right in front of me? Absolutely nothing.
That sister that he talked about many times, it seemed like they were close yet I never once saw her or anyone he knew for that matter.
My breathing was speeding up. I'm completely alone with him in this house. What if this man is....stalking me?
No, this can not be happening to me...
