The wind howled as the building shook underneath your weight. You shivered from the freezing cold as tears slipped down your face. You had lost all sense of time. You had no idea what day it was. You didn't even know what month it was. You had no idea how long you had been holed up but you were going crazy. You just wanted to go home.
Sirius had never returned since the day he captured you. He stayed true to his word, he never hurt you and he made sure that you were well cared for. Every day food would appear but you never knew where it came from. Sirius had given you a thin blanket but you were left with nothing else. All you wanted was to go home. To see your friends. To see Matt. To see your Cedric.
You sobbed harder as the wind whistled through the cracks of the building. You had no idea where you were or if you'd ever be able to leave. It was becoming too much and you were barely holding it together. You wanted to give up. You wanted to stop fighting and just give in to the cold. But you couldn't. Not when there were people out there looking for you. Not when you had a baby brother to look after. Not when you had 4 best friends who wouldn't rest until you were found. Not when you had a boyfriend who was probably beside himself with fear.
You sighed as you struggled against the robes that bound you together. They would disappear when your food came and automatically reappear when you were finished. The door was always locked and there was no other way out. Sirius hadn't hurt you but that didn't mean he was going to trust you completely. He had still tied you up and covered your mouth so no one would hear you scream. Not that it would've mattered. The wind was too loud for anyone to hear you over. You were beginning to think that no one would ever find you.
You felt your eyelids grow heavier as you fought to stay awake. You couldn't fall asleep. You were too vulnerable when you slept. Just when you thought you couldn't take it any longer you heard the sound of muffled voices. You struggled harder as you strained to hear their words. The voices were growing closer to you.
"(Y/N)? Baby girl? Please (Y/N)! I need you! Come home! Come home to us! To me! Please! I love you! If you're here give us some kind of sign! Please baby!" You gasped. Cedric. He was here. He was here to save you. You fought against the gag in your mouth as you heard several pairs of footsteps trudging around the building.
"Search every room in the house! Turn this place upside down! If you find Black scream Code Red. If you find Ms. Middlebrook be gentle, the poor girl's probably traumatized," you heard another voice announce. Dumbledore.
Sinking your teeth into the cloth against your mouth, you yanked it was all the strength you had left in you. It ripped, falling away from your lips. You heard footsteps making away up the stairs. This was it. You were going home. They would be able to get you out of here. They would save you.
"Please! Help me! Someone help me! Cedric? Dumbledore? Please! Someone help me!" You shouted as loud as you could, your voice raw from the cold. You breathing became ragged as you strained to be heard. To your relief, what sounded like 10 pairs of footsteps came rushing towards you. They stopped at the door to your room.
"(Y/N/N)? Are you in there? Is that you? Are you okay? Is Black in there with you?" Adrian. That meant Terence was with them. You whimpered.
"Yes! It's me! Please! Get me out of here! Black isn't here! I haven't seen him since the day he kidnapped me! Please! Help me! Cedric?" You screamed. You heard a muffled sob on the other side of the door as someone sighed in relief.
"I'm here, baby! I'm here! Hold on, my love! We'll get you out of there! Just hold on a minute longer! We're going to get you out! You're safe now!" Cedric shouted, his words thick with sobs.
"We're going to break the door down, Ms. Middlebrook. Are you a safe distance away from the entrance?" Dumbledore asked.
"Yes! Please hurry! I can't feel my limbs!" You cried. There was a muffled conversation on the other side, just as something hit the wood. The door flew of it's hinges as you averted your face away from the flying splinters. The door crashed against the wall and you squinted against the dark, trying desperately to see.
Ten dark figures rushed into the room, slowly coming into focus. You sobbed with relief and joy as the ran towards you. Adrian grasped your face in his strong hands as Terence began to untie the ropes. Adrian kissed you cheeks, tears falling down his own face. As soon as the ropes fell, you were crushed into a tight hug, between Adrian and Terence. You cried as you held them against you. You missed them so much.
When they pulled back, your eyes landed on a tall boy dressed in canary-yellow robes. Adrian and Terence stepped out of your way as you threw yourself into his arms. He caught you, sobbing with relief. He pulled away, just enough to slam his lips into your own. You kissed him back, feeling more passion and love than you had ever before.
The kiss ended as he pulled you back into his arms, holding on to you tightly. You felt warmth return back to your body, but not enough. You sank to your knees, losing your moment of strength. You couldn't feel your limbs. Cedric gasped as he wrapped a cloak around you.
"We need to get her back to the castle. Now. She could easily die from hypothermia. Mr. Diggory, do you think you'll be able to carry her?" Professor McGonagall asked as she bent down next to you, her eyes glassy with tears. Cedric nodded as he scooped you up bridal style.
"You 5, when we get back to the castle we're going to take Ms. Middlebrook, Mr. Diggory, Mr. Pucey and Mr. Higgs to the Hospital Wing. We'll go in through the back so no one sees them. I want the all of you to stand outside while we make sure Ms. Middlebrook is well taken care of. Make sure that no one enters the Hospital Wing. We don't want to overwhelm her," Dumbledore ordered sharply to 5 muscular men, dressed in black combat gear. They nodded, saluting your Headmaster. You buried you head in Cedric's cloak as he shifted to hold your weight. This was it. You were going home.
